1977年「Works」リリースに伴う夏の北米ツアーより、選りすぐりの高音質オーディエンス録音で収録された２公演を豪華４枚組に収録。ツアー前半、そしてニューヨークMSG３公演等で大規模なオーケストラとの共演ツアーを行い、センセーショナルな話題を呼びましたが、本セットに収録されている２公演は、どちらもオーケストラ抜きの３人による演奏です。既にオケ無しのライブは相当数をこなしており、オーケストラに頼らずとも、壮大なスケールで聴き手を圧倒する、ソリッドで研ぎ澄まされたようなトリオ演奏でのパフォーマンスをそれぞれのライヴで、超高品質で堪能することができます。ディスク１＆２に収録されているのは6月14日のプロビデンス公演。過去にAmityより「FANFARE FOR PROVIDENCE」というタイトルでリリースされていた、あのダン・ランピンスキーによる極上音源を収録。2009年当時、数多くの名音源をネットを介して登場させ、世界中のファンの度肝を抜いたランピンスキー・コレクションからのELP音源。当時の録音テクニックからは考えられない程のクオリティでショウの全編を収録しています。普通に聴いていれば、放送音源と聴き間違えるような、信じ難いレベルのウルトラ・クリアーなサウンドで収録されており、70年代前半期の暴力的な演奏からクリーンにスケールアップした端正で高度なコントロールの効いた素晴らしいパフォーマンスを楽しむことができます。当時の最先鋭機ヤマハGX-1を駆使した独特の音色を駆使し、高品質なキーボード演奏を聴かせるエマーソンのプレイはどの曲も聴き応え満点。Hoedown、Tarkus、ピアノ協奏曲を組み込んだTake A Pebble、スリリングなTank、壮絶な盛り上がりを最高音質で体感できるラストPiratesとFanfareと、全ての楽曲で深い音楽的満足感をたっぷりと味わえる名演の数々を堪能できます。テープチェンジのカットはKnife Edgeのエンディングとそれに続くPromenadeの冒頭、Piratesの9:06、Fanfareの冒頭の３箇所にあり、Piratesはスピーディに盛り上がる部分でここのパートの未収は残念です。演奏自体はノリにのっており、これとRondoを後半に組み込んだFanfareは本当に圧巻の演奏が楽しめます。初期とは違ったもうひとつの音楽的ピークを感じさせるWorksツアーの最高音質版。

代わってディスク３＆４に収録されているのは1977年8月13日のカリフォルニア州のサン・バーナディーノ公演。こちらは今は亡きプログレ専門レーベル「Windmill」から「EVIL WORKS」と言うタイトルでリリースされていた極上音質盤。「いくら良くても、ランピンスキー音源とのカップリングは荷が重くない？」と思われるかも知れませんが、なんと音の近さ・ダイレクト感はそれ以上のパーフェクトサウンドで録音されており、聴き手の度肝を抜くことでしょう。この当時のカセット録音でのオーディエンス音源としては、トップレベルのサウンドで収録されており、プロビデンスのランピン音源同様に、これもまた、このままプレスCDリリースしても全くと言って良い程問題のないクオリティです。この音源の唯一の欠点であるFanfare For The Common Manの前半のトラブルは別音源と差し替えることでストレス無く一気に聴けるようにほぼ完璧に補正してあります。とにかくこの時期のELPのライヴにおける音の完成度は頂点に達しており、両公演ともに最初から最後まで、緊張感が持続した、見事なまでの高品質なパフォーマンスを、ツアー屈指のハイグレード・サウンドで楽しむことができます。ギフトタイトルながら、一生かけて愛聴すること間違いなしの一大傑作４枚組タイトル！！
