The ultra superb album of “WONDERFUL CRAZY NIGHT TOUR” appears as a permanent preservation press. World tour that has been on for one and a half already since last January. In our shop I have reported on various live albums from the beginning but this work has a different dimension. I have delivered any sound board with CDR, but this time it is a super high quality album of a class that can not be saved forever!

This is the schedule that has been published to date. Berlin performances of this work is the concert Upon 19 performances eyes of the “European # 4”, that reported the other day, “MANNHEIM 2017 (Uxbridge 697)” in the “next”.

“WONDERFUL CRAZY NIGHT TOUR”の超・極上ライヴアルバムが永久保存プレスで登場です。昨年の１月からすでに１年半続いているワールドツアー。当店では開始当初からさまざまなライヴアルバムでレポートしてきましたが、本作は次元が違う。いかなサウンドボードでもCDRでお届けしてきましたが、今回ばかりは永久保存せずにはいられないド級の超ハイクオリティ・アルバムなのです！
そんな本作に収められているのは「2017年７月７日ベルリン公演」。その超・極上オーディエンス・アルバムです。まずは、ワールドツアーの全容の中からイメージしてみましょう。

これが現在まで公表されているスケジュール。本作のベルリン公演は「欧州#4」の19公演目にあたり、先日レポートした『MANNHEIM 2017（Uxbridge 697）』の“次”のコンサートです。
そんな本作最大のポイントは、異常なほどのハイクオリティ・サウンド。上記のようにすでにワールドツアーは後半に入っており、当店ではこれまでプロショット＆サウンドボードの『HYDE PARK 2016（Uxbridge 598）』を筆頭に放送音源や極上オーディエンスなど、さまざまなライヴアルバムをお届けしました。しかし、そのいずれもがギフトやUxbridgeレーベルのCDR。今回は、そのサウンドボードさえも霞むほどのクオリティで永久保存が決定したのです。
実際、本作のサウンドはどう表現したら良いのか迷う素晴らしさ。先日の『MANNHEIM 2017』も「まるでサウンドボード」「まるでFM放送」と呼べる美サウンドでしたが、本作は更にサッと晴れ渡ったクリアさに目も覚める。もちろん、猛烈なダイレクト感も鮮烈でキラキラ輝く高音から会場の床が震える低音まですべてが綺麗に捉えられている。さらに素晴らしいのは“鳴り”。ほんのり僅かにまとった音響が演奏・歌声を艶やかにし、まるで精緻に磨き上げられた公式アルバムのように絶妙なバランスを誇っている。公式アルバムはミックスやマスタリングによって“美”を生み出しますが、本作はその美しさを一発録りのオーディエンスで実現している。公式ばりの“美”でありながら、圧倒的に自然。そのサウンドの中で伸びる艶やかで深いエルトンの歌声……。
さらにさらに、その美しさに一役買っているのがオーディエンス・ノイズ。詳しい録音ポジションは分かりませんが、曲間に沸き起こる大喝采は１人ひとりまでクリアでありながら、その粒が異様なほど小さく、しかも広大。もちろん、極太な演奏・歌声が邪魔されることなどなく「エルトンと小さな大群衆」の遠近感が凄まじいスペクタクルを生んでいるのです。進歩著しい最新オーディエンスでも聴いてビックリするサウンドはごく希ですが、本作はその希な超ハイクオリティ録音なのです。
なにもかもが素晴らしいサウンドで描かれる最新ショウは、これまた胸に迫る超名曲の塊。2015年の来日公演も記憶に新しいところですが、その際にはリリースされていなかった新曲「Looking Up」をはじめ、「A Good Heart」「Have Mercy on the Criminal」「I Want Love」「Take Me to the Pilot」といった名曲群も聴ける。特に「Take Me To The Pilot」「I Want Love」「Have Mercy On The Criminal」は、2016年のツアー前半の代表作だった『HYDE PARK 2016』聴けなかった。それが公式裸足の超・極上サウンドで味わえるのです。

本編プレス２CDは、サウンドボードも裸足で逃げ出す気品高きツアー最高峰アルバムです。それだけのライヴアルバムにもし足りないものがあるとすれば、それは“光景”。そこで、名盤誕生の現場を生々しく記録した傑作オーディエンス・ショットをボーナスにご用意しました。
本作に収められているのは、本編プレス２CDと同じ「2017年７月７日ベルリン公演」。何よりも素晴らしいのはアングル。ステージ右側からの斜めショットなのですが、スタンド席の最前列なのか、１階アリーナの観客頭上を素通りして遮蔽物なしにステージを直視できる。ただし、「見下ろしショット」ではなく、目線の高さはステージ上のエルトンと同じで、思わず目が合ってしまいそうです。
その上、安定感もズバ抜けている。滑らかで自然な動きから察するに三脚は使ってはいないようですが、かと言って手ブレもほとんど起こさない。最新の手ブレ防止機能の凄味を見せつけるかのようです。サウンドはさすがに本編プレス２CDには遠く及ばないものの、それでも遮蔽物なしの光景に相応しいクリアっぷりです。
そんなクオリティで描かれる最新ショウは、やはり素晴らしい。齢70歳を超えたエルトンの絶好調ぶりはライヴアルバムでも分かりましたが、やはり“目撃”すると説得力がまるで違う。観客を指さしてノセるショウマンシップ、さまざまな映像演出を凝らした巨大スクリーンやライティングの美しさ……。本編プレス２CDは圧倒的な“音の美術品”でしたが、その現場にはエンターテインメントが躍動し、熱狂する観客の息吹に溢れていた。本編プレス２CDが“極上の鑑賞”だとすれば、本作は間違いなく“絶品の体験”なのです。

名盤が素晴らしければ素晴らしいほど、その現場に居合わせたくなるもの。通常であれば、それは叶わぬ夢に終わるところですが、今回は本作がある。ぜひ「本編プレス２CD→本作→本編プレス２CD」の順に味わってみてください。最初は夢のように感じられる圧倒的な美世界が、映像の記憶を持った二度目は“現実の奇跡”と感じるはずです。
