Eagles resurrected with Glenn’s son Deacon Fry and Vince Gill. The latest and greatest live album of their revival tour “EVENING WITH THE EAGLES” appears.
It is contained in this work “July 20, 2018: Boston Performance”. “EVENING WITH THE EAGLES” is going around the whole country, just now it’s about a one month charging period. First of all, let’s check the position of the show in the course of restarting in order to know the status of such people.

This is the schedule which has been published to date. After that, “VETSAID 2018” sponsored by Joe Walsh in November is only decided, and there is no plan at the end of the year. “North America # 2” that began in early spring has finished just the other day, and the Boston performance of this work was a concert that was the 35th performances of the final stage.
This work, including such a show, is a beautiful finest audience sound. Although detailed recording position has not been transmitted, the on feeling is sound board burst, the venue sound acoustic which was slightly relaxed is as glossy and natural as if it is mixed. Although raw cheers are also sucked in, there is no way a dark cloud in the Eagles’ show will take place, regretful applause is as smooth as a velvet carpet, the big (yet distant) seaworthy sea is precise It spreads to.
As a matter of fact it is a beautiful recording that can be called as “the official live board”, but the breath of this audience is more than that. It reacts to melody one by one and gets extremely natural and boasts about 20,000 chorus units spreading in space so that the venue space appears to the eyes. With a cheer that mixes with deeds, this is not going to happen. Audience recording tends to be a substitute such as “there is no way to connect because there is no sound board” and “a connection to the official place”, but the sound of this work is totally different. It is an elegant live album filled with “beauty because it is an audience” that can not be done with the official album.
A show drawn with such a superb sound is wonderful. In our shop, we also introduced the masterpiece “KANSAS CITY 2018 (Uxbridge 819)” which will be the first report of “EVENING WITH THE EAGLES”, but after four months have elapsed, the set also changed. Despite being the biggest gray test hit, he showcased a masterpiece “The Long Run” not played in the beginning of the tour and “Do not Let Our Love Start” of Vince’s solo song. Of course, I play “Ol ” 55″ which became a topic for the first time in 19 years.
My son Deacon and Vince are worried over such a set. From the beginning when the tour was announced, there was also a voice saying that “the best lineup of the past”, but I got even more proficient by stepping on the number of places. The degree of synchronization of the chorus is further refined, and Deacon sings “Take It Easy” “How Long” “Peaceful Easy Feeling” “Already Gone”, Vince’s “Take It to the Limit” “Tequila Sunrise” “Ol ” 55 “Lyin ‘Eyes” “New Kid in Town” “Heartache Tonight” are familiar like their own songs.

Anyway beautiful sounds, beautiful songs and beautiful performances. It is a masterpiece of a live album that gives more impression than it listens, even though it is like an official product when listening. Whether or not it is close to the soundboard, if it is a customer record, it is full of shine, it is on site so it approaches my heart. It is a sound that searched for “beauty that can only come from the audience”, a music work that can witness a masterpiece of Eagle and a new entrance. 本作に収められているのは「2018年７月20日：ボストン公演」。“EVENING WITH THE EAGLES”は全米を巡っており、ちょうど今は約１ヶ月間の充電期間中。まずは、そんな彼らの近況を知る意味でも再始動後の歩みの中でショウのポジションを確認しておきましょう。

これが現在までに公表されているスケジュール。その後は11月にジョー・ウォルシュが主催する“VETSAID 2018”が決まっているだけで、年末期には何の予定も入っていません。春先から始まった「北米#2」はつい先日終了しており、本作のボストン公演はその終盤35公演目にあたるコンサートでした。
そんなショウを収めた本作は、見目麗しい極上のオーディエンス・サウンド。詳しい録音ポジションは伝わっていませんが、オンな感触はサウンドボードばりで、ほんのりとした会場音響はまるでミックスされているかのように艶やかで自然。生々しい喝采も吸い込まれてはいるものの、イーグルスのショウで闇雲な空騒ぎが起ころうはずもなく、惜しみない拍手はヴィロードの絨毯のように滑らかで、大きな（それでいて遠い）唱和の海がきめ細やかに広がるのです。
実のところ「まるで公式ライヴ盤」と呼べるほどの美録音なのですが、この観客の息吹はそれ以上。メロディに逐一反応しながら極めてナチュラルに沸き立ち、約２万人に及ぶコーラス隊は会場空間が目に浮かぶほどに立体的に広がる。作為を持ってミックスした歓声では、こうはいかない。オーディエンス録音というと、ともすれば「公式が出るまでの場つなぎ」「サウンドボードがないから仕方ない」といった代用品にもなりがちですが、本作のサウンドはまったく違う。公式アルバムでも成し得ない“オーディエンスだからこその美”に充ち満ちた気品のライヴアルバムなのです。
そんな極めつけの美音で描かれるショウこそが素晴らしい。当店では“EVENING WITH THE EAGLES”の第一報となる傑作『KANSAS CITY 2018（Uxbridge 819）』もご紹介しましたが、あれから４ヶ月が経過してセットも変更。大筋では変わらぬグレイテスト・ヒッツではあるものの、ツアー初期には演奏しなかった名曲「The Long Run」やヴィンスのソロ曲「Don’t Let Our Love Start」を披露。もちろん、19年ぶりと話題になった「Ol’ ’55」も演奏してくれます。
そんなセット以上に気になるのは息子ディーコンとヴィンス。ツアーが発表された当初から「過去最高のラインナップ」との声も聞かれましたが、場数を踏んだことで更に熟達。コーラスのシンクロ度は一層磨きがかかり、ディーコンが歌う「Take It Easy」「How Long」「Peaceful Easy Feeling」「Already Gone」、ヴィンスの「Take It to the Limit」「Tequila Sunrise」「Ol’ ’55」「Lyin’ Eyes」「New Kid in Town」「Heartache Tonight」共に、自分の持ち歌のように馴染んでいます。

とにかく美しい音と美しい曲と美しい演奏。一聴するとオフィシャル品のようなのに、聴き込むほどそれ以上の感動をくれるライヴアルバムの大傑作です。サウンドボードに近いかどうかではなく、客録なればこそ輝きに満ち、現場だから胸に迫る。“オーディエンス出しかあり得ない美”を究めたサウンドで、イーグルの名曲と新たなる門出に立ち会える音楽作品。永遠に浸っていたくなる音のアート、どうぞ心ゆくまでじっくりとお楽しみください。
