“PERFECT STRANGERS TOUR 1984-1985” which regained the glow of gold and made the whole world boiled. That treasure master appears in permanent preservation press 2CD.
What is contained in this work is “New Haven Performance on February 25, 1985”. First of all, let’s imagine the position of the show from within the world tour as usual.

This is the whole tour that declared “the return of legend” to the whole world. In 1984 I completed only Oceania and began invasion of the whole country from 1985 when the year was revised. The New Haven performance of this work was a concert that will be the 25th public performance of “North America # 1”. This work which contained such a show is an extremely wonderful audience sound. As for the New Haven performance, although there is also a record without the outing of “Highway Star” and “Smoke on the Water”, this work is the longest version different from them. Recently unearthed masters, excluding “Woman From Tokyo” at the start of the encore, they are completely recorded (Incidentally, this song is not included in another master, and even I could not confirm even if I really played it Hmm).
It is more powerful than that length, the sound itself. With a strong, direct feeling, cleverly cleared. To be honest, only the first half base is somewhat sweet, but it is only saying “It feels like a groovy rather than a gorgor,” and in the second half it will become a “gorillary.” When turning this upside down, the other instruments are to be overcome one sound one sound. There is little response at the hall, the guitar is brilliant to the strength of picking, and the organ is clear to the width of Vivrato. What is even more amazing is vocal. A momentary effect with “A Gypsy’s Kiss”, echoes of “Perfect Strangers” “Child In Time” etc., fine nuances are also brilliant like a direct sound board. Shout is also sharp enough to make it reminiscent of the 1970s, and the great scream of “Child In Time” is also full of explosive power. It is an amazing aspect of “Authority of cry”. Of course, I know that it is not a singer of only power and shout, but I do not think that I will be screaming like this neatly. Of course, if Giran which is the most uncertain factor becomes powerful full opening, there is no scary thing “golden five people” already. Ritchie · Blackmore ‘s Strat who burns to the nation’ s dominant win over Kire, John Road ‘s organ is solemnly aggressive. Of course, Ian Pais is a big explosion as usual (laugh)! Among the North American show of the reorganization DEEP PURPLE, I can not recall the performance so far … … Such an extremely powerful hard rock paradise.

After all, “PERFECT STRANGERS TOUR” is wonderful. It is natural that the golden age of the 70’s is terrible, but “1985” is full of confidence different from that at the time it was natural. Through individual activities, they realized their “personality” and “strength”, and that is why “golden five people” that made it back. Hard rock that strikes the whole world with its confidence and awareness … …. This is the real pleasure of being in the ‘return to origin’ phase that is not in the golden age that has come by chance. Not only DEEP PURPLE, there are some manians who love the return point of origin rather than the golden age, but it is fascinated by “concentration” and “confidence” without hesitation.
A masterpiece live album filled with bangs with such a terrible super clear sound. In a sense, even over the golden age, “UK hard rock ‘s Togeno Town”, please have plenty of fun!

黄金の輝きを取り戻し、全世界を沸かせた“PERFECT STRANGERS TOUR 1984-1985”。その秘蔵マスターが永久保存プレス２CDで登場です。
本作に収められているのは「1985年２月25日ニューヘイブン公演」。まずは、いつものようにワールドツアーの中からショウのポジションをイメージしてみましょう。

これが“伝説の帰還”を全世界に宣言したツアーの全容。1984年はオセアニアだけで済ませ、年の改まった1985年から全米侵攻を開始。本作のニューヘイブン公演は、その「北米#1」25公演目となるコンサートでした。そんなショウを収めた本作は、極めて素晴らしいオーディエンス・サウンド。ニューヘイブン公演というと「Highway Star」の頭切れや「Smoke on the Water」のない録音も出回ってもいますが、本作はそれらとは違う最長版。最近になって発掘されたマスターで、アンコール冒頭の「Woman From Tokyo」以外は完全収録しています（ちなみに、この曲は別マスターにも収録されておらず、本当に演奏したのかさえ確認できていません）。
そんな長さ以上に強力なのが、サウンドそのもの。逞しくダイレクト感たっぷりで、猛烈にクリア。正直なところ、前半ベースのディテールのみやや甘さもあるのですが、それも「ゴリゴリというよりはブンブン唸る感じ」というだけですし、後半になるほど「ゴリゴリ」になっていくのです。これを裏返すと、それ以外の楽器は１音１音まで超克明ということ。会場反響もほとんどなく、ギターはピッキングの強弱まで鮮やかですし、オルガンもヴィヴラートの幅までハッキリ。さらに凄いのはヴォーカル。「A Gypsy’s Kiss」で一瞬かかるエフェクト、「Perfect Strangers」「Child In Time」のエコー等々、細やかなニュアンスも卓直結サウンドボードのように鮮烈。曲間になると現場のアンプが吐き出す「シー」という電気ノイズまで綺麗に拾われており、オーディエンス録音よりむしろ「FM音源です」と言われた方がしっくりくるくらいのウルトラ・サウンドなのです。
そのサウンドで描かれる熱演の素晴らしい事！　この日はイアン・ギランは、とにかくパワフルに押しまくる。やや荒っぽくもあるのですが、苦しげなのではなくワイルド。シャウトも70年代を彷彿とさせるほど鋭く、「Child In Time」の大絶叫も爆発力全開。“叫びのオーソリティ”の面目躍如なのです。もちろん、決してパワーとシャウトだけのシンガーではないと分かってはいるのですが、こうまで見事に叫ばれると思わずニヤニヤしてしまう。もちろん、一番の不安要素であるギランがパワー全開となれば、もう“黄金の５人”に恐いものなし。全米制覇に燃えるリッチー・ブラックモアのストラトはキレにキレ、ジョン・ロードのオルガンも荘厳にしてアグレッシヴ。もちろん、イアン・ペイスはいつも通り（笑）に大爆裂！　再編DEEP PURPLEの北米ショウの中でも、ここまでの熱演はちょっと思い出せない……そんな超強力なハードロック・パラダイスなのです。

やはり、“PERFECT STRANGERS TOUR”は素晴らしい。70年代の黄金時代が凄まじいのは当然ですが、“1985年”は天然だった当時とは違う確信に満ちている。個別の活動を経たからこそ、自分たちの“個性”・“強み”を思い知り、だからこそよりを戻した“黄金の５人”。その自信・自覚を持って全世界に叩きつけるハードロック……。これこそ、偶然の歩みでたどり着いた黄金期にはない“原点回帰”期だからこその醍醐味。DEEP PURPLEに限らず、黄金期よりも原点回帰期を愛するマニアもいますが、それは迷いのない“集中力”と“確信”に魅せられるからなのです。
そんな凄味が超クリア・サウンドでパンパンに詰まった大傑作ライヴアルバム。ある意味で黄金期さえ凌駕する“英国ハードロックの桃源郷”、どうぞたっぷりとお楽しみください！
