DEEP PURPLE 3rd phase that grew richer with new talent. The valuable long live album appears in permanent preservation press 2CD.
It is contained in this work “May 15, 1974 Manchester Show”. It is a concert that is just one week before the official’s famous “LIVE IN LONDON”, its precious special class audience recording. Since the press title of “BURN TOUR” is also a long time ago, let’s first confirm the position of the show from the whole tour tour.

This is the stage from the stage DEEP PURPLE stage debut to “the messenger of Arashi”. This work ‘s Mancha Star show was a concert that was the 15th show of the only home country tour.
This work which recorded such a show is a really splendid vintage audience. As a matter of fact, there has been a record of sounds for this show before and it has been known as a name recording representing this time period. Although this work also has the same recording itself, it is a new excavation master with different paths from the previous episode. What is superb is clear. Originally it was not a type of mistake as a sound board, but the air feeling is transparent, each instrument is not dango and one sound one sound is clear. The hot weather that ‘s released violently in’ Burn ‘,’ Mistreated ‘, I feel vividly the temperature of the site being carefully bred. It is a real audience like a hole vacant on the wall of the venue directly connected to the speaker beyond the spacetime.
Although the taste of such recording was felt even by the previous departure, the master of this work is natural, even Genes is young, more vivid, and the ringing is natural. As a matter of fact, it was due to master deterioration, the equalization caused distortion of the treble, and in particular the hardware system pierced into the ear was severe. On the other hand, this work is clear as it is, the ringing is nice and nature. You can taste the sound of the site itself even more.
It is a wonderful show that can be said as “full scale LIVE IN LONDON” that is drawn with that natural sound. The name plate “LIVE IN LONDON” contains Kilburn performances of “May 22”, which is only one week with this work. That’s why the band’s condition and the performance’s tension are very similar. However, even though the first performance is similar, the length is quite different. It is an incredibly long recording which also includes “Encore” Going Down “and” Highway Star “as well as” Space Truckin ‘”. As a matter of fact, “Highway Star” breaks in about two and a half minutes, and this work also ends. Although I do not know whether it was a final performance or just reprinted with a reply, this work is still the earliest “Going Down” even in the 3rd period, different to “Highway Star” Absent. While fresh, you can taste the ambition of encouraging ambitions.

Richie Blackmore was also inclined all of his passion, while welcoming the two new members, in the early stages of the third phase DEEP PURPLE. It is a rare live album that you can taste that wonderful performance at full scale. A name recording that updated the highest peak with a new master. 本作に収められているのは「1974年５月15日マンチェスター公演」。オフィシャルの名盤『LIVE IN LONDON』のちょうど１週間前にあたるコンサートであり、その貴重な特級オーディエンス録音です。“BURN TOUR”のプレス・タイトルは久々でもありますので、まずはツアー全体像からショウのポジションを確認しておきましょう。

これが第３期DEEP PURPLEのステージ・デビューから『嵐の使者』までの歩み。本作のマンチャスター公演は、唯一の母国ツアーの15公演目にあたるコンサートでした。
そんなショウを記録した本作は、実に見事なヴィンテージ・オーディエンス。実のところ、このショウには以前から音の記録が存在し、この時期を代表する名録音として知られてきました。本作も録音自体は同じなものの、既発とは経路の異なる新発掘マスターなのです。何よりも素晴らしいのはクリアさ。そもそもサウンドボードと間違えるようなタイプではなかったわけですが、その空気感は透き通っており、各楽器がダンゴにならず１音１音までくっきり。「Burn」で激しく放たれる熱気、「Mistreated」ではじっくりと醸成されていく現場の温度をビビッドに感じる。まるで会場の壁に空いた穴がそのまま時空を超えてスピーカーに直結しているようなリアル・オーディエンスなのです。
そんな録音の旨みは既発でも感じられましたが、本作のマスターはジェネが若いのか、さらに生々しく、鳴りもナチュラル。実のところ、既発はマスター劣化のせいか、イコライジングのせいか高音が歪んでおり、特に耳に突き刺さる金物系が厳しかった。それに対し、本作はクリアさもそのままに、鳴りはグッと自然。より一層、現場そのもののサウンドを味わえるのです。
そのナチュラル・サウンドで描かれるのが、“フルスケールのLIVE IN LONDON”とも言える素晴らしいショウ。名盤『LIVE IN LONDON』は”５月22日”のキルバーン公演を収録しており、本作とは１週間しか違わない。それだけにバンドのコンディションや演奏のテンションは酷似しているのです。しかし、名演ぶりは似ていても、長さはまるで違う。「Space Truckin’」はもちろんのこと、アンコール「Going Down」「Highway Star」も収録した破格のロング・レコーディングなのです。実のところ、「Highway Star」は約２分半で演奏がブレイクし、本作も終了します。そのまま終演になったのか、はたまたリプライズでフル演奏し直したのかは分かりませんが、それでも本作こそが第３期でも極初期の「Going Down」であり、「Highway Star」には違いない。フレッシュでありながら、野心漲るアンコールがしっかりと味わえるのです。

２人の新メンバーを迎えつつ、リッチー・ブラックモアも情熱のすべてを傾けていた第３期DEEP PURPLEの初期。その素晴らしい熱演をフルスケールで味わえる類い希なるライヴアルバムです。新たなマスターで最高峰を更新した名録音。永久保存プレス２CDでたっぷりとお楽しみください。
