No way, I guess this is going to happen. Recently, the world first public “YOKOHAMA STADIUM 1983 (Wardour – 253)” was discovered and “SERIOUS MOONLIGHT JAPAN TOUR” gathering attention at once. Even just that one work was a strong shock, but more new excavations occurred. This week we released 2 live albums, the world’s first public release, at the same time. This work is a live set of ” October 24, 1983: Nippon Budokan ” performance.
Speaking of what is so surprised, there are two points. One is “set” instead of “album”. Actually, this work compiled two extreme recordings born from one show, four sets. Both of them are the world first public master. Of course, initially I pressed the recording which is superior to the definite street, I thought that one was a bonus CDR … … but it was a perfect match. It is a quality that you can not choose even if you listen to it.
And the second surprise is not just comparing back acorn. In any case, the piece of this work is a legendary name Tapa’s work, but one is the original master of the superstar “Kinney”. As a matter of fact, “SERIOUS MOONLIGHT JAPAN TOUR” is a fierce battleground of these two men. We have introduced many masterpieces at our shop. Over all, 10 performances. The other shocking board “YOKOHAMA STADIUM 1983” and this week’s simultaneous release “DEFINITIVE NAGOYA 1983 (Wardour-255)” is also a Kinney work, and the best masterpiece that is Yokohama recording and twinning “OSAKA 1983 FINAL NIGHT (Wardour- 183) “is a masterpiece work. This work is a 4-tuple with the first appearance “master recording” on disc 1-2, “Kinney recording” on disc 3-4.
It is suddenly intense suddenly from “first-time recording” (Disk 1-2). “OSAKA 1983 FINAL NIGHT” Just alone can understand the taste, but also person who worked a lot of press name boards such as Stones, Clapton, Jeff Beck etc. It is an original master of the exiled master who was handed over from the recordingist himself this time, but as you can imagine from the fact that it is recorded earlier than the superstar “Kinney”, it is clear recording until terrible. And “Kinney recording (Disc 3-4)” is incredibly wonderful. If “master recording” is “glow”, this is “rich”. Of course, in terms of normal standards it is furiously clearer, “Keene Magic” itself that has proven with many bands / artists. On top of that, this work is a little vivid at the venue acoustics richly sounding, (with the detailed detail as it is) a certain response, even the reality of the touch feeling is equipped. Of course, both people inhale a little bit of yellowish voice, but it sounds a little far far in the distance. Bowie’s singing voice, the band’s performance is the “music album” that stands all over.
The show drawn with that quality is the first professional iron wall professional. As mentioned above, this work is the last day of 4 consecutive performances at Nippon Budokan. Although it is worried about fatigue when the show goes on too much, even if it is “4 consecutive”, it is not the point that it is not “4 consecutive days”. “YOKOHAMA STADIUM 1983” and “OSAKA 1983 FINAL NIGHT” competing for the world champion of “SERIOUS MOONLIGHT TOUR”. まさか、まさかこんな事が起ころうとは。先日、全世界初公開盤『YOKOHAMA STADIUM 1983（Wardour-253）』が発掘され、一気に注目の集まった“SERIOUS MOONLIGHT JAPAN TOUR”。あの１作だけでも強烈な衝撃でしたが、さらなる新発掘が連発。今週は世界初公開のライヴアルバムが２本も同時リリースの運びとなりました。本作は、そのうち「1983年10月24日：日本武道館」公演のライヴセットです。
何をそんなに驚いているのかと言えば、ポイントは２つ。１つは「アルバム」ではなく「セット」なところ。実は、本作は１つのショウから生まれた２本の極上録音をコンパイルした４枚組。そのどちらもが全世界初公開マスターなのです。もちろん、当初は定石通りより優れている録音をプレスし、片方をボーナスCDRに……と考えていたのですが、まったくの互角。いくら聴いても選べないクオリティなのです。
そして２つめの驚きは、単なるドングリの背比べではないこと。何しろ、本作の片割れは、伝説的な名テーパーの作で、も一方も超名門“キニー”のオリジナル・マスターなのです。実のところ、“SERIOUS MOONLIGHT JAPAN TOUR”はこの両雄の激戦地。当店でも数多くの名作をご紹介してきました。ここで、そのラインナップを思い起こしていただくためにもツアー日程を振り返ってみましょう。

以上、全10公演。先日の衝撃盤『YOKOHAMA STADIUM 1983』をはじめ、今週同時リリースの『DEFINITIVE NAGOYA 1983（Wardour-255）』もキニー作品であり、その横浜録音と双璧となる最高傑作盤『OSAKA 1983 FINAL NIGHT（Wardour-183）』が名手の作。本作は初登場の「名手録音」をディスク１-２に、「キニー録音」をディスク３-４に配した４枚組なのです。
最初に登場する「名手録音（ディスク１-２）」からしていきなり強烈。『OSAKA 1983 FINAL NIGHT』だけでも凄味がご理解頂けると思いますが、他にもストーンズ、クラプトン、ジェフ・ベック等々のプレス名盤を大量に手がけた人物。今回も録音家本人から譲られた門外不出のオリジナル・マスターなのですが、超名門“キニー”を差し置いて先に収録されていることからも察していただける通り、凄まじいまでのクリア録音なのです。もちろん、甲乙付けがたいのもウソではなく、よくよく聴けば完全に互角。しかし、そのクリスタル・クリアな輝きサウンドにびっくりするのは「ディスク１-２」の方。そう、あの“キニー・マジック”よりも輝くサウンドなのです！
そして「キニー録音（ディスク３-４）」もとんでもなく素晴らしい。「名手録音」が“輝き”だとすれば、こちらは“リッチ”。もちろん、通常の基準で言えば猛烈にクリアで、幾多のバンド／アーティストで証明してきた“キニー・マジック”そのもの。その上で、本作はほんのりとまとった会場音響が鳴りをリッチに彩り、（超詳細なディテールはそのままに）確かな手応え、手触り感覚のリアリティまでもが備わっている。もちろん、両者とも黄色い嬌声を極わずかに吸い込んではいますが、それも遙か遙か彼方に小さく遠く聞こえる。ボウイの歌声、バンドの演奏こそが全面に立つ“音楽アルバム”なのです。
そのクオリティで描かれるショウは鉄壁のプロフェッショナルぶりが凄い。上記した通り、本作は日本武道館４連続公演の最終日。あまりショウが続くと疲れが気になるものの、“４連続”ではあっても、“４日連続”ではないのがポイント。前日“10月23日”はオフになっており、地方への移動もしていない。アンサンブルは絶好調にこなれつつ、一息抜いて疲れもないベスト・コンディション。しかも、４公演を同じ会場・同じセットで磨き上げたショウ。オフィシャル作品『SERIOUS MOONLIGHT』では聴けないアンコール「Star」「Stay」「The Jean Genie」「Modern Love」も含め、絶好調ぶり・鉄壁ぶりが全編を見事に貫くライヴアルバムなのです。

“SERIOUS MOONLIGHT TOUR”のワールド・チャンピオンを競っている『YOKOHAMA STADIUM 1983』と『OSAKA 1983 FINAL NIGHT』。その両者を手がけた達人同士の世界初公開マスターのガチンコ対決……。まさか、34年も経ってこれほど凄まじい録音が２本も同時に現れるとは。１本１本を聴き込むほどに、凄まじいサウンドが奇跡の重さを語ってくる極上の４枚組です。どうぞ、この新発掘の“今”を存分にお楽しみください。
