Bernie Marsden and Neil Murray who was also the essential part of the good old WHITESNAKE. The latest live album that they formed together appears.
It is contained in this work “September 10, 2017 Darlington Performance”. It is an audience recording when I appeared as a bird of “DARLINGTON RHYTHM & BLUES FESTIVAL 2017”. Bernie in recent years has been doing a whole-time activity of doing dozens of performances in one year. Although it got a little more in 2017, we have not gone on a large tour. To be honest, it is a modest activity, but in 2017 reunited with Neil Murray realized in such a situation. I am performing live with former MAGNUM’s Mickey Barker and trio organization. This work is such a special Bernie’s special class audience recording.
Actually, the sound of this work is excellent. To call it “as if it is a soundboard” is somewhat sweet on the edge, but the direct directive for the tremendous line recording classes. There is no sense of distance, we can not hear the venue acoustics. The close contact feeling that Bernie stands right in front is terrible. It is the same even for a rhythm squad. I sing to a song with a rich vibe that is one of the most British scenes, drumming plenty of drumming pushes the structure of the kit with a stereoscopic feeling that seems to emerge. Of course, cheering between songs is a vivid audience recording, but its quality is a name recording away from the customer record.
It is the extreme of British blues that is drawn with that sound. The set is roughly “cover of WHITESNAKE” and “blues standard” half. The solo songs are like the favorite “Kinda Wish She Would” and “Who’s Fooling Who” which are remaking many times.
What is worrisome is the WHITESNAKE number, this is a format called “LOVEHUNTER” to “SAINTS & SINNERS” each album. Although it is almost a major representative song, I am pleased to pick up “Till The Day I Die” for a long time in which the head family forgotten for a long time. After “Walking In The Shadow Of The Blues” I play a little rif of “Crying In The Rain”, but please do it full as it is … ….
More attractive than WHITESNAKE is the standard group of blues. It’s really good sense from selection. Big Bill · Broundy’s “Key To The Highway” who was reigning as a prewar songstarter’s red berry “Linin ‘Track” before Maddy, Jimmy Rodgers’s numbering at the Maddy Band “Walking By Myself, “Born Under A Bad Sign” famous for Albert King, “Oh Well” of FLEETWOOD MAC … …. Too cheap, not too hotty, it will let you listen carefully to the “Bruce’s Way” that reaches the WHITESNAKE music, studying from pre-war Blues to 50’s Chicago, 60’s modernization, and British white blues. Besides, “Oh Well” is delicious “The Green Manalishi” and “Born Under A Bad Sign” is a delicious arrangement that combines Buddy Holly’s “Raining In My Heart”.

This is blues rock. As a matter of fact, the cover hobby of David Cavadair is close to Seoul / R & B, but Bernie is a do straight ball (if it is straight up to this point he will miss Mickey’s Elmore Tone Slide as well). Who was responsible for the blues side of WHITESNAKE, a masterpiece of a live album that speaks louder than words. It is one piece that tells why British blues rock is burning at her breath more than being able to meet “the present barney”.

ソロ曲は何度もリメイクしているお気に入り「Kinda Wish She Would」と「Who’s Fooling Who」くらいです。
「Walking In The Shadow Of The Blues」の後で「Crying In The Rain」のリフをちょっと弾きますが、そのままフル演奏してくれ……。
戦前ソングスターのレッドベリー「Linin’ Track」、マディ以前に“シカゴの首領”として君臨していたビッグ・ビル・ブルーンジーの「Key To The Highway」、マディ・バンドの番頭ジミー・ロジャースの「Walking By Myself」、アルバート・キングで有名な「Born Under A Bad Sign」、FLEETWOOD MACの「Oh Well」……。 しかも「Oh Well」には「The Green Manalishi」を、「Born Under A Bad Sign」にはバディ・ホリーの「Raining In My Heart」を織り交ぜるこしゃくなアレンジまで美味いのです。
