全てオリジナルアナログ盤からのダイレクト収録で、安易なネット音源ではありません。
メインとなるのはDisc1収録の1964年9月2日フィラデルフィア公演を収録した2枚のLPで、ともにレアな入手困難盤からの採録となりますが、特に今回の目玉品であるDisc1の前半に収録のALIVE AT LAST(WALRUS RECORDS)については近年ネット上に流通するテープ音源とされるものよりも極めてクリアかつコンプ処理とは無縁のレンジの広い、奥行きと余裕を感じさせるナチュラルで耳辺りの良いアナログサウンドです。ライブ演奏部分の初登場箇所等はありませんが、ライブ出だしと終演の歓声、ハウリング部分、さらにA面最後のMCからB面頭のMC部分に関しては既発ベストとされるCDタイトルよりも若干ながら長く収録されており、既発タイトルのどれもが実はアナログ盤を元にノイズリダクションをかけ、レコードのトレースノイズ部をカットするためフェードイン、フェードアウトで短くなっている、と言うのが本音源前半のWALRUS盤と比較してみての推測であり、テープ音源は実は存在しないのではないか、というのが本盤をリリースするに際しての結論となり、コアなマニアには見逃せないものとなっております。今回はアナログ盤を忠実に再現するため、ピンポイントの狙い撃ちでノイズ除去を行い、音量調整を施した以外にはイコライジングやコンプレッサー処理等は施しておりません。是非、貴重な原盤に忠実なサウンドを体感下さい。
Disc1後半の”In Concert at Whiskey Flat”(No Label)は、後のTMOQ盤とされており、ビートルズのコレクターズアイテムとしても最初期盤の一枚とされています。レーベル面に大きな1, 2と言う数字が印刷されているのがいかにもTMOQらしいデザインです。音質的には前半のWALRUS盤には若干及びませんし、ディスクの変わり目部分のMCが短くなっていたりと前半収録のALIVE AT LASTと若干収録内容に違いがありますが、貴重な最初期盤ということでここに収録しました。ALIVE AT LASTとの違いを各自で確認してみるのも乙かも知れません。
Disc2は実質的にボーナスdiscとなり、こちらお馴染みCONTRA BAND MUSICのリクエストによりCONTRA BAND MUSICの懐かしいLPをdisc化！あくまでマニア向けの内容ですが、ここにボーナス・ディスクとして収録です。
この2枚目に関してはこれらアナログ盤からCD化されることは今後ほぼ永遠にないでしょう。
