新生エイジアが新作をひきさげて早くも来日公演を行いました。前回の来日後、スティーブ・ハウが脱退、新たにサム・コールソンが加入したエイジア。新メンバーで新たなアルバムを作成し、ワールドツアーが始まりました。英国で１ステージをこなしたあと日本に来日。今回は名古屋、大阪、東京（2days）と４日間連続というハードなスケジュールです。しかしながら、そんなことを微塵も感じさせないステージを繰り広げてくれました。本作４枚組は、6月19日と20日に行われた東京・渋谷公会堂公演を、オリジナルマスターより高音質オーディエンス録音でそれぞれ完全収録したもの。2日間とも同一のテーパーによる録音で、音の統一感もバッチリの高品質版に仕上がっています。（録音位置は、初日はステージ向かって中央よりやや左側6列目、2日目は右側6列目）

まずは初日からいきましょう。チャイコフスキーの「1812年（序曲）」が流れ、メンバーが登場。「孤独のサバイバー」からのスタートです。この時点でジョンの調子が絶好調であることが聞いてわかります。連戦で声の調子も心配されましたがそんなことは全くありません。また、新加入のサムですがストレートなプレイでバンドに新たな「勢い」をつけてくれたことがわかります。特に彼の加わった「ドント・クライ」は、近年ではエレクトリック・バージョンで演奏されていないため、非常に貴重であるばかりではなく、そのハードな演奏も素晴らしいものだと断言できます。今回のセットリストは、「アストラ」や「ゼンアンドナウ」からの曲も演奏されるなど興味深い選曲です。残念ながら初日は客の入りが思わしくなかったのですが、一切手抜きなしのステージです。もちろん、ジョンのあの言葉も登場します。

２日目も初日と同様のセットリストです。しかし前日とは異なりこの日はほぼ満席ということもあり、メンバー、オーディエンスが一体となった素晴らしいステージが繰り広げられました。もはやエイジアのホームグランドとも言える渋谷公会堂で満員の観客、メンバーが燃えないはずがありません。特にジョンは、日本で４連戦目となる公演ですが、前日同様に絶好調をキープ。前年の来日時よりもさらに調子を上げているのではないかとさえ思えます。またこの日は、前日以上にカールのドラムソロも非常に盛り上がっています。この日はなぜがジョンのあの言葉がありませんでしたが、彼自身があの言葉を言うのも忘れてしまったのではないかと思われる熱いステージです。
