上記の名作群が語るように、この名録音家の腕は絶品。本作のクオリティもまた、その名声に違わぬものです。冒頭の「You Shook Me All Night Long」ではAC/DCのあまりの大音量にオーバーピークになってしまうシーンもあるのですが、すぐさま修正。２曲目の「Stiff Upper Lip」からは、上記の名作群と同様のクリアサウンドが広がるのです。この事実がまた、名手の凄味。イヤホンをして聴きながらの録音だったのかは分かりませんが、聴きながらだったとしても、現場の大音量の中で録音サウンドを聞き分ける耳は常人離れしていますし、聴かずにカンだけで調整したのならもっと凄い。いずれにせよ、相当な手練れには違いなく、そのセンスと技術だからこそ生み出し得るサウンドを存分に味わえる。その楽音は、クリアなだけではなく極太でダイレクト。大きな大阪城ホールのはずなのに会場残響が一切なく、ゼロ距離感のサウンドがたっぷりと詰まっているのです。
この１点を取っても「まるでサウンドボード」と呼べるクオリティなのですが、それでも本作は確実にオーディエンス録音。それを痛感するのは、会場の熱狂です。大音量の楽音に合わせているため、曲間であっても大歓声はさほど感じないのですが、調整する前に録音された開演前の熱気は超リアル。この時の来日は1982年以来、実に19年ぶり。そこに集った観客たちの熱気は異様で、待ちに待って待ちきれないのに待たされた“長大なオアズケ”が今にも破裂しそう……いえ、破裂し始めている。定番の「アンガス！」コールはもちろんのこと、その端々から雄叫びも聞こえ、野太い「はよ来いやぁ！」の怒声（？）まで轟く。この９年後の2010年来日も凄かったですが、本作に渦巻く大気はそれどころではないのです。そんな異常な熱気に後押しされたAC/DCが悪かろうハズがない。先ほども書いた通り、本作の歓声は控えめなボリュームなのですが、その熱狂はバンドの熱演ぶりから滲み出してくる。「シラけた客を前だったら、こんな演奏できやしないよ」というハイテンションぶりが凄いのです。
