『BLOOD OF THE NATIONS』以来、アルバム発表事に着実に来日を重ねてくれている彼ら。今回は東名阪に加えて福岡公演まで実現し、根強い人気ぶりを見せつけてくれました。本作に収められているのは、その中でも「2017年９月12日：梅田クラブクアトロ」公演。まずは、今回の来日スケジュールの中からショウのポジションを確認してみましょう。

【名匠による究極メタル・サウンド】
そんな本作最大のポイントは、極上を究める異常なレベルのハイクオリティ・サウンド。とにかく、とにかく凄い！　もちろん「大阪・メタル・超高音質」と来れば、録音家は彼しかいない。当店ではお馴染みの“西日本最強テーパー”氏の作品です。実は音楽趣味の方なのですが、その芯にあるのは間違いなく“ヘヴィメタル”。しかも、現場は彼の庭でもある“梅田クラブクアトロ”。これまで無数の名作・傑作を生み出してきた会場であり、その音響スポットも機材セッティングも客層もすべてが経験値MAX。そのノウハウを駆使した録音が悪かろうハズがないのです。
実際、聴く前から「凄いんだろうな……」とは思っていましたが、本当に凄かった（笑）。思わず「（笑）」などと付けてしまいましたが、人間はあまりに凄いものを突きつけられると笑いが込み上げてくるようです。事前に分かりきっていて、覚悟もしていたのに、それでも「すげぇ」……。会場音響皆無でド直球な楽音は丸っきり卓直結サウンドボードのようですし、ド太いリズム隊の鉈のような肉厚ぶり、ピッキングが目に浮かび、マークのヤスリ声のザラつきが粒子レベルで感じられるディテールの細やかさ。ゴリゴリ・ズンズンとしたベースのド迫力、漢声のコーラスはヴィヴラートまでクッキリ。それでいて、生々しい喝采が湯気のようにほんのりと沸き上がる……とにかくもう、「凄い」。超傑作連発の“最強”氏だけに、軽々に「これが一番！」とは断言できないわけですが、断言したい。しても誰も怒らないでしょう、これなら。だって、ヘヴィメタルでこれ以上のサウンドなんてあり得ないでしょ……そんな次元の異常録音なのです。

【今こそが全盛期な鉄槌ライヴ】
そんなサウンドで描かれるショウは、鋼鉄の心意気が溢れてこぼれて床一面に広がってしまう生鉄鋼。もう何を書いているのか分かりませんが、そんくらいに重金属！　どこまでも凛々しいギター、魂に楔を打ち込むリズム、漢コーラスを従えた金属声……。どれもが孤高。ウヴェ・ルイス、クリストファー・ウィリアムズの２人も新加入とは思えないほどの鉄壁ぶりです。
特にクリストファーの活躍ぶりは圧倒的。いや、別にスラッシュバンドのように猛烈な手数というわけではありません。むしろ、逆。ACCEPTは“メタルの権化”のようなイメージですが、むしろ本質はAC/DC的。ヤスリ声やコーラスもそうですが、それ以上にリズムのグルーヴこそが要。ツーバス連打の忙しないドラミングではなく、一打一打を五臓に打ち込み、重低音で六腑を揺らす。正直に告白すると、最初は「アメリカ人ドラマーか……」と侮っていましたが、クリストファーはものの見事にグルーヴを描き出してくれた。凡百のメタルバンドとは違う、“鉄槌ビート”が全編で炸裂するのです！
超・高音質と全盛の演奏。それだけでお腹いっぱいですが、それでも本作は許してはくれない。セットがまた最高なのです。今回も名盤だった新作『THE RISE OF CHAOS』からの５曲を軸にしながら、80年代・再編時代の超名曲がズラリ。もちろん、思わず歌いたくなる（車内厳禁！）お馴染みの名曲群も押さえていますが、レア曲も美味しい。新曲の「The Rise Of Chaos」はこの日が全世界初演（！）ですし、ほぼ24年ぶりに復活した「Objection Overruled」も披露される。この２曲がまた、最高にかっこいいんだ……。

まさに鋼鉄。まさに鉄槌。正直な話、ACCEPTは「売れ筋No.1！」と騒ぎ立てるようなバンドではありません。それでも、ここまでの超ハイクオリティなサウンドと凄まじいライヴを聴かされたらプレスせずにはいられない。初来日から32年が経って頂点を迎えているACCEPT、彼らを愛し続けている日本のメタルヘッズ、そして鋼鉄魂の録音家……。そのすべてに全身全霊の敬意を込め、ここに永久保存決定です！

★　最後に余談を１つ。この１本だけでも最高・最強のライヴアルバムですが、実は本作には姉妹作があります。それはDIRKSCHNEIDERの『STAYING A LIFE AGAIN（Shades 645）』。昨年５月に来日したウド・ダークシュナイダーのライヴアルバムで、全曲ACCEPT。本作と同じ「“梅田クラブクアトロ”＋“最強”氏」という勝利の方程式であり、本作にも負けない超ハイクオリティなサウンドで漢ライヴが炸裂する１本です。ぜひ、併せて“２つのACCEPT”をご堪能ください。
