これが先頃終了したツアー日程。この他にも、８月-９月に延期となっていた10公演の振り替えも行われますが、世紀の合体を世界に知らしめる初日程は、この13公演です。この中で、本作は「2016年６月９日マンチェスター公演」を収めたオーディエンス・アルバムなのです。実のところ、現在一番人気となっているのは、先日もギフトでご紹介したオーディエンス映像『PRAGUE 2016』。その強烈極まる映像美で“奇跡合体”を目撃できる大傑作なのですが、惜しむらくはいくつかの曲でカットがあった。それに対し、本作は視覚なしのライヴアルバムとは言え、シームレスにショウに没入できる極上品なのです。
そのクオリティは、まさに驚異的。デジタル機材の進歩が著しい客席録音の世界ですが、その中にあってもバツグン。リアルな熱狂がうっすらと被るために確実にオーディエンス録音ではあるのですが、楽音のクリアさ、図太さはサウンドボードにも劣らない。アンガス・ヤングのリードギターを筆頭に、グギグギと鳴るスティーヴィ・ヤングのリズムギター、クリフ・ウィリアムズ＆クリス・スレイドが生み出すビートもクッキリ・ハッキリ・キッチリ。大歓声のスペクタクルもしっかり収めてはいるのですが、遙か遠くの海のうねりのよう。ド直球な楽音こそが全編を支配し、貫くのです。も・ち・ろ・ん、大注目のアクセル・ローズの歌声こそが素晴らしくクリア。このクオリティは、無数に登場している録音の中でも頭２つくらい飛び抜けており、（現在のところ）間違いなくNo.1サウンドなのです。
そのサウンドで描かれるAXL/DCのライヴこそが凄い。いままでのタイトルでも書き連ねてきましたが、これがまたなんとも不思議でカッコイイ。耳に染みついた“AC/DCソング”、“アクセルの声”に間違いないものの、それが組み合わさっても違和感がない……。ここまでの２タイトルも素晴らしかったですが、11公演目ともなると更に馴染み、まるで“元々こういうバンド”かのよう。スラッシュ＆ダフ・マッケイガンの復帰したGUNS ’N ROSESにも興奮しましたが、アクセルがもっとイキイキしてる!?　ブライアン・ジョンソンの回復を祈る気持ちにもウソ偽りはありませんし、“比べてどうこう”なんてヤボは申しませんが、AXL/DCが怖ろしくカッコイイことも否定できないのです。この合体、日本で観てみたい……。

AC/DCと共に13公演を終えたアクセルは、すぐさまGUNS ’N ROSESの“NOT IN THIS LIFETIME… TOUR”に戻る予定。今後のスケジュールをカンタンにまとめておきますと……

そんな話題沸騰のAXL/DCだけに、公式ライヴ作やサウンドボードの発掘が待ち望まれますが、それらも保証の限りではない。しかし、もしそれが叶わなかったとしたら、本作こそが「AXL/DCの最高傑作」となることでしょう。もちろん、AXL/DC初体験にお薦めするのは目撃できる映像『PRAGUE 2016』ではありますが、フルショウを欠けなく聞き込み、この奇跡ユニットの行方に想いを馳せるなら本作こそがベスト。どうぞ思う存分、2016年最高のロックンロールをご堪能ください！
