『四重人格』に伴うツアーは1974年2月にフランスで、5月にイギリス、そして6月にアメリカと、断続的に3つのレグにわけて、半年の間にわずか13公演という小規模なものであった。さらにツアーにおいてはセットリストの変遷も特記事項である。アルバムを聴けばわかるのだが、このアルバムのサウンドはシンセサイザーを多用したきらびやかな色彩を帯びたものとなっている。それが意味するところは、4人バンドでステージで再現することが困難であるということである。そこで当初は事前にバッキング・トラックを録音しておいて、ステージではそのテープに合わせて演奏するという案が遡上に上がった。しかし技術的な事や、テープと演奏のタイミングが合わないなどの問題点が噴出し、ツアー当初は『四重人格』からの楽曲が多く演奏されていたが、ツアーが進むにつれその比重は低くなっていき、最終的には3曲程度しか演奏されなくなっていった。

本作は、THE WHOコレクター秘蔵のBBCバージョンの高画質ソースがあり、それとは別にマスタークオリティで数曲あり、それらを組み合わせて最長収録になるよう試みている。残念ながら完全収録というものはいまだ発掘されておらず、むしろ現存しないという話もある。また元がPALソースということもあってノイズが散見され画質が微妙なものが多かったのだが、本作ではそれら画質も従来にないハイ・クオリティとなっている。内容的にも、ピートのインタビューやバックステージの様子なども含め、最良かつ最長となっている。

そして映像の音声部分であるが、こちらはビデオ・ソースとFM放送されたステレオ音源の2種類の音声が切り替え出来るようになっている。
