One of the most popular titles in the VINTAGE SNAKE series is a limited re-arrival decision. From 1978 WHITESNAKE ‘s Ultra Rare Live soon after the start, Manchester performance when Brian Johnston was enrolled and London performances after the keyboard replaced Pete Sorrie were both recorded from two audience master cassettes provided by the recorders The definitive item that was converted into a soundboard to press CD! Those who have not experienced this work are sure to not miss this last opportunity!

On Disk 1, Manchester “Rafters Club” performance on March 21, 1978, which is the seventh live as a band, is recorded with all the people listening with surprisingly high sound quality. Although the performance of this day was only known for 4 songs in the nostalgic title “NORTHWINDS IN ALKMAR”, the fact that the take was revived in a nearly perfect form with a master quality shocked the fans.
Personality that feels “heat” and “temperature” from sound, such as hot air of the audience swirling in a limited space, juicy sound image which oozes out with a club-like mood, and the warmth of the tape master, etc. It is the feature of the maximum recording. Above all, the band’s performance is enthusiastic, and the performance and staging where acceleration finally finishes several performances in the opening stage is a powerless question and answer. This is the sound board, you can not taste, if it is a live tape, the wonder of the live recording board! In case
This take comes out on stage only for the audience and starts from the voice of Bernie who says “I’m the only one?” David continues to roar surprisingly and the performance begins from “Lady” following the rough band sound. In the third song, if you think that “Is not No Love In The Heart Of The City” was taken up as early as the EP “SNAKEBITE” release, “Stteal Away” was played from Mickey’s guitar solo, and the initial WHITESNAKE Entertain the entertainment of deep blue rose and hot rock. Also, because of few original songs as a band, it is also a listening place where there are many DEEP PURPLE numbers. “Mistreated” featuring Bernie’s guitar is a classic, while the classic, “Lady Luck” of the fourth period that you can listen to in the second song, and even lighter “Lady Double Dealer” (listen to unexpected breaks and twin leads!) All songs that can be heard only during the period are important parts (unfortunately there are some cuts in the middle part of “Mistreated”).
One word of wonderful nori of “Breakdown” that concludes the set main part is also wonderful. The appearance of enjoying his roots Blues and Rock’n’Roll in a new band formed by himself seems to be full of confidence and joy. While playing, there are scenes where tuning madness is anxious, but the performance punctuated by momentum and enthusiasm is a masterpiece. In the scene that screams out that the great cheers after the stage is over, and the club DJ’s excited voice, “A great band! Knocked out! WHITESNAKE !!” is not only the work, but also the initial scene of WHITESNAKE I guess.

About 10 performances Brian leaves and the keyboard is replaced by Pete Sorry. Then the band released E.P. “SNAKEBITE” in April, and in June he recorded the first full album “TROUBLE”. Driving that momentum WHITESNAKE will show off a single live in London. On Disk 2, this July 9, ’78 Lycium “performance is recorded with superior audience sound as well.
During the Pete solitude period, the number of live shows is small, audience recording is extremely valuable. Compared to the sound image of disk 1, there is an impression that gives one step, but this take also uses excellent master cassette directly, as the audience seismic recording of the time it is recorded as live performance of pre-Angkor sound quality with highest level doing. In the era and the era, the broadcast sound source is recorded in the press CD title “VINTAGE COLLECTION 1978”, but over there it was a short, hard performance for the broadcast. To listen to the original sound in this formation, this work is the best.
After this “Come On” to protect the opening until ’80 is played high as if WHITESNAKE first golden era declared. The band ensemble also made a big step forward from the live in March, and it is understood that each piece of music and play has been arranged precisely, and it has turned into a hard rock band with a larger scale. Pete will hear outstanding play more than Brian which was somewhat plain, although the color is different from the fertile play of John Road later.
The third song “Bloody Mary” is a great listening place in the first half with a super valuable number (this is the first premiere) that little live takes is left. Furthermore, it can be said that the live folded with “Is not No Love In The Heart of The City”, “Steal Away”, “Mistreated” reflects the momentum of the upstream tone band. “Mistreated” deeply thoughtful of Cavadair is particularly passionate, and he sings with a tremendous vocal volume that seems to be “a bit too powerful” (his vocal is too strong and there are scenes where the back performance can not be heard !) The centerpiece of this latter half of the sound source will be rare “Do not Mess with Me” recorded “TROUBLE”. Mickey and Bernie ‘s guitar solos on this song are also excellent (Listen to Cavardale’ s new song “Starstruck”! “Lies, joke”, which MC listens to RAINBOW, is interesting as well).
It is a shame at that time that the uncolored part of the encore part which seems to have been played “Rock Me Baby” is regrettable, but this day is also the last live for Pete, and its sound source is left at this level Being a fan, you will learn a great feeling.

This work, which packaged the Johnston era before the joining John Road, the Pete era, respectively with the best audience source at that time, is a unique one to relive the extremely early WHITESNAKE live. This work compatible with the full entertainment ability that everyone admires, “This is a hard rock’s live!” Is a masterpiece in the history of WHITESNAKE. If you are not owned please get it this time!

★ I am using the original master cassette which I got directly from Bernie Marsden himself in 2004. White Snake · Fan essential · Listening, super important · large masterpiece title. Please do not miss this opportunity by all means.

WHITESNAKE!!」

さらに「Ain’t No Love In The Heart of The City」・「Steal Away」・「Mistreated」と畳み掛けられるライヴは、上り調子なバンドの勢いを反映していると言えるでしょう。 本音源後半の目玉は「TROUBLE」収録のレアな「Don’t Mess With Me」でしょう。 Starstruck”!
