TWISTED! Fuckin’ SISTER!!」とコールしますが、序盤だというのに会場の全員がピッタリと叫ぶ、叫ぶ！　このド迫力、なんてメタルなんだ!!!
観客からそれだけの一体感、集中力を引き出しているのは、合唱大前提のキャッチーな楽曲とディーのトーク。本作には、「MC」や「Member Introduction」と題されたトラックが10分46秒もありますが、ディーはひたすらしゃべる・しゃべる・しゃべる！　英語の分かる方なら、この話芸だけでも本作を聴く価値がありますが、英語の不得手な方でも一言一言で見事に変わっていく会場の空気感が十分にお分かりになるでしょう。ロニー・ジェイムズ・ディオやジェイムズ・ヘットフィールド、デイヴ・リー・ロス……歴史に残るショウマンたちをさんざん聴いてきましたが、本作のディーほど自在に観客をコントロールするフロントマンは聴いたことがありません。
そして、語りで盛り上げた客を一瞬たりとも醒めさせない演奏も熱い。歌声も素晴らしく（後輩ですが）スティーヴ・グリメットのような雄々しい声でヘヴィメタルを歌い上げるディー・スナイダーの格好良さは、スタジオアルバムの比ではありません。決してテクニカルなバンドではありませんが、そのグルーヴ感の気持ちよさもハンパではない。それもそのはず。TWISTED SISTERのレコード・デビューは1982年ですが、その時点ですでに10年選手。ただキャリアが長いのではなく、全国に名の知れない下積みの10年なのですから、叩き上げもいいところ。鍛えに鍛えに鍛え抜かれたパフォーマンスは、客ノセの極意を知り尽くしてるのです。そして、超リアル、超ドキュメントな空気を届けながら、大歓声が爆音でもなければ、楽音の邪魔すらせず、演奏の機微まで詳細に分かる。名匠の最高傑作と呼んでも、なんら恥じることのない超クリア・サウンドで聴けるのです。

たしかに「We’re Not Gonna Take It」は有名です。本作でも盛り上がりに盛り上がり抜くハイライト。しかし、それは一度忘れてください。最大級のウリであるはずの１曲ですら、どうでも良くなるほど本作のライヴは凄い。もはや「プロフェッショナル」という言葉ですら生ぬるい、徹底的なショウマンシップとステージ運び。そして、それに対して熱狂とリスペクトで応えるオーディエンスの息づかいまで分かるのも、客席録音ならでは。仮に、あなたが１曲も知らないとしても、メタルを、ロックを愛するなら熱くならないはずがないのです。
