「Victims Of The Future」期のライブは1984年春まで、前年からのイアン・ペイスに加え、新加入のニール・カーター、クレイグ・グルーバーという４人編成で行われ、全英・日本・ヨーロッパと３月まで精力的なプロモーション・ツアーが組まれました。その後、ペイスはディープ・パープル再編のために脱退、ドラマーにボビー ・シュイナードを加え、５月～７月にかけてラッシュの前座等で大規模なUSツアーを行います。（ボビーは1997年に死去。彼のドラムは公式ライブ盤「We Want Moore」の冒頭3曲（デトロイト6/23)、等で聴くことができます。）イギリスに戻ったゲイリー一行は、次にベースをボブ・デイズリーに交代させイギリスとドイツのモンスターズ・オブ・ロックを含む５公演を行います。そして更にその年末にフィル・ライノットも一部参加してのアイリッシュ・ツアーを特別に行うのですが、その４公演の前にウォームアップギグとして行われたのが本作に収録された12月12日のロンドン・マーキークラブ公演です。このロンドン公演とアイルランド・ツアーのみ、ドラマーはロキシー・ミュージックの名手ポール・トンプソンが務めており、本盤はその５回のみ行われた貴重なラインアップでの演奏を聴くことができます。

この時期のライブがCD化されるのは初であり、夏のドイツ版モンスターズ・オブ・ロック以来となるゲイリーの久々のステージを聴くことができます。音質は最高クラスのオーディエンス録音！しかも全曲収録・80分ギリギリの録音。セットは日本でも聴けた「Victims Of The Future」ツアーをそのまま持ち込んでおり、レアな曲はやってませんが、とにかく1984年12月のゲイリー・バンドのプレイが聴けるのはとにかく貴重でファン絶対必聴です。最初はテープ特有のアナログヒスが聞こえますが、その音質場どんどんグレードアップしていく感じで、聴き進むうちに「これはとんでもなく凄い音で録音されたテイク」であることが判ってきます。音の篭りも殆ど無く、パンチ・分離感は最高クラス。下手なイコライズを一切施していない分、マスターそのものの音が聞け、ライブ・テープ・マニアなら「これはもう最高！！」と感じながら、ゲイリーの熱い演奏に聴き入ってしまうこと間違いありません。バンド全体も素晴らしいですが、ゲイリーがソロタイムに入った時が驚く程キレイに迫力満点に録れておりファンは至福の時を過ごす事が出来ます。

ツアー前にしっかりとバンドとしてもリハーサルの時間はとったのでしょう。ポールにとってゲイリーバンドでのファーストステージですが、ドラムに危なげなところはなく、全体を通して、パワフルヒッターの彼らしい、ベテラン然とした、実に重厚なドラミングを聴くことができます。（ポールは次作「Run For Cover」のレコーディングにも参加。Out of My SystemとNothing to Loseでクレジットされています。）小規模会場であるマーキーの小屋の雰囲気に、パワフルな生々しいドラムサウンドと叩きっぷりがジャストマッチ。ボブのベースラインも力強く、ドラム＆ベースが全体を牽引する様も頼もしく響きます。強固なリズムプレイをバックに豪快に弾きまくるゲイリーのプレイは終始圧巻のひとこと。 熱狂的なファンの前でゲイリーも久々のライブにご機嫌のようで、Back On The Streets終演後、ゲイリーは「Thank you very much, Marquee! Good Night!」と豪快にシャウト。アンコールのNuclear Attackでギターがトラブったようでその様子もリアルに収録されています。ラストは「G Forceアルバムから」とのMCでRockin’ & Rollin’が強烈なグルーブで演奏されます。ゲイリーはもうノリまくって弾いている感じ。ラストのロンドンのファンとの掛け合いもクラブ然とした自然な雰囲気で楽しさいっぱい。Nuclear Attack、Rockin’ & Rollin’は以降は演奏されなくなりますのでそう言った意味でも貴重ですし、なにより初期ゲイリーの数々の名演が繰り広げられたマーキークラブでの最後の演奏は感慨深いものがあります。ファン絶対必聴の超々高品質・大必聴盤！！
