PURPLE CHICK The first press version of breaking the rules was a compilation of the sound sources of the 1964 World Tour. Although the TV appearance in the Netherlands, which decorates the opening of the first piece, was a lip-synching setting like in the 1960s, it was a strange recording that live songs were mixed everywhere because the microphone was turned on for some reason. Therefore, it was a rare TV appearance that was surprisingly enjoyable even if you listened to it only by voice.
Next was the sound source from the performance twice a day in the Netherlands, and the first show was a very rare audience recording at that time. It’s hard to hear each person’s vocals, and it’s as if the audience is singing with the Beatles playing in the background, but that’s also a valuable recording.
Although the second show is short, the sound quality is good with sound board recording, but the chorus is still heard from behind, giving a glimpse of how tremendous the venue was on the day.
And the latter half of the first piece is the famous Adelaide performance as the only complete sound board recording when Jimmie Nicol took the place of Ringo. When it was first excavated, it was valuable and the sound quality was quite high, but the twist of the tape was a stress on listening. Of course, what was recorded here is the best version that you can listen to with confidence without such problems.

The second piece was recorded with the sound board recording and the best version of each of the two stages in Melbourne, which has been familiar for a long time. The sound quality of the second show, which is also famous for video, is very good, and the audio alone is sufficient to hear. It is a high-quality sound source that is one of the three fingers in the 1964 live before the Hollywood Bowl. The fragmentary Sydney performance sandwiched between these two Melbourne sound sources is a recording by a news film shooting company with a sound collecting microphone, and it is a de facto audience recording of a blurred sound image, but this is a tribute.
Rather, it is extremely easy to hear and understand that the two discs were neatly divided into Jimmie Nicol’s participation schedule and after returning to Apple. In addition, sound board recording is also the main. Isn’t this tour still satisfying with this title? A masterpiece like that.

PURPLE CHICK
