これほどのﾗｲｳﾞ･ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑをどうご紹介すればいいのでしょう……｡とにかく衝撃｡最初にﾏｽﾀｰを聴いたとき､頭には｢!?｣ばかりが並んでしまいました｡本作は､ｲﾀﾘｱﾝ･ﾌﾟﾛｸﾞﾚの至宝PFMの本国ﾗｲｳﾞを真空ﾊﾟｯｸしたｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ｡伝説の初来日公演の3ヶ月前にあたる｢1975年8月10日ﾘﾐﾆ公演｣で､ﾍﾞﾅﾙﾄﾞ･ﾗﾝｾﾞｯﾃｨが加入する直前です｡つまり､｢甦る世界｣を創り上げた黄金期の5人（ﾌﾗﾝﾂ･ﾃﾞｨ･ﾁｮｯﾁｮ､ﾌﾗﾝｺ･ﾑｯｼｰﾀﾞ､ﾌﾗｳﾞｨｵ･ﾌﾟﾚﾓｰﾘ､ﾊﾟﾄﾘｯｸ･ｼﾞｳﾞｧｽ､ﾏｳﾛ･ﾊﾟｶﾞｰﾆ）によるﾗｲｳﾞなのです｡｢筆舌に尽くしがたい｣という言葉は､言葉を尽くす努力を怠った証拠だ……そう考えてきましたが､このｱﾙﾊﾞﾑを聴いて､どうご紹介していいのか途方に暮れています｡本当に｢凄い｣｢素晴らしい｣で埋め尽くすしかないんじゃないか……｡
まず､絶頂期にある黄金の5人が本国ｲﾀﾘｱで演奏している｡この事実だけでもﾗｲｳﾞの凄味はご想像いただけると思いますが､それを捉えたｻｳﾝﾄﾞもまた凄い｡ﾏｽﾀｰをかけた最初の驚きは､｢まさか､PFMのﾗｼﾞｵ放送!?｣だったのですが､どうやらそうではなく本作はｵｰﾃﾞｨｴﾝｽ録音らしいのです｡いや､“らしい”ではありません｡｢ｽﾃｰｼﾞ上でﾏｲｸ録音した｣と明言されていますから､確実にﾗｲﾝ録音ではない｡しかし､聴いているとあまりにｻｳﾝﾄﾞﾎﾞｰﾄﾞ（しかも､見事にﾐｯｸｽされた放送音源）のようで､“らしい”と付けずにはいられないのです｡残念ながらﾏｽﾀｰ･ﾘｰﾙの現物は失われてしまったらしく､1stｼﾞｪﾈ･ｺﾋﾟｰをﾃﾞｼﾞﾀﾙ化したものなのですが､ﾋﾞﾋﾞｯﾄﾞな音の鮮度たるやﾏｽﾀｰ･ﾘｰﾙがどんな音だったのか想像すらできません｡
冒頭のﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞ紹介からｻｳﾝﾄﾞﾎﾞｰﾄﾞにｽﾀｼﾞｵ歓声を被せたﾗｼﾞｵ放送のようですが､ﾁｭｰﾆﾝｸﾞ中にうっすら聴こえるﾊｳﾘﾝｸﾞやｱﾝﾌﾟのﾉｲｽﾞまでﾀﾞｲﾚｸﾄ感がある｡その後､ｲﾀﾘｱ語で挨拶して演奏に入っていきますが､そこでもまるでﾗｲﾝ｡各楽器がいかに複雑なﾌﾚｰｽﾞを絡ませようとも1音1音までﾊｯｷﾘと分かり､ﾄﾞﾗﾑの打音もｷｯﾄの構成まで主張してくるようなｸﾘｱさなのです｡細かく延々と絡みあう｢Il Banchetto｣の鮮烈さと言ったら！
そのｻｳﾝﾄﾞで奏でられるのは､PFMの頂点たる大充実ﾗｲｳﾞです｡同じくｲﾀﾘｱの至宝AREAのﾃﾞﾋﾞｭｰ作で気を吐いたｼﾞｳﾞｧｽが加入し､“黄金の5人”がそろって､ほぼ丸2年｡さらなる飛躍を期す黄金期の勢いはそのままに､円熟味までまとい始めた一番美味しい時期｡そこにﾎｰﾑｸﾞﾗｳﾝﾄﾞならではの自信と貫禄までも漂わせているのです｡それもそのはず､当時のPFMは国内随一の大物ﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞであるばかりか､国際ﾃﾞﾋﾞｭｰを果たして意気上がる“ｲﾀﾘｱの英雄”｡支え続けたﾌｧﾝは誇りを持って自分たちの英雄を見つめ､ﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞもそれに全力で応えるﾊﾟﾌｫｰﾏﾝｽなのです｡ｵﾌｨｼｬﾙのﾗｲｳﾞ･ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ｢COOK｣はもちろん問答無用の名盤ですが､｢あれは世界に挑むｱｳｪｲの戦いだったのか｣と今さら思い知らされてしまいました｡
特に大迫力の｢Celebration (E festa)｣で幕を開けるﾃﾞｨｽｸ2は空前絶後｡PFMというと優雅な繊細さが真っ先に思い浮かびますが､複雑精緻に突き進むｱﾝｻﾝﾌﾞﾙのなんとﾊﾟﾜﾌﾙなことか！ さらに､千変万化なｼﾞｬﾑやﾄﾞﾗﾑｿﾛを大胆に取り込んで24分半に伸長された｢Impressioni di Settembre｣が続く｡この激しい起伏と縦横無尽な旋律……1970年頃のDEEP PURPLEやBLACK SABBATHさえも霞むｴﾈﾙｷﾞｰです！

PFMの名盤中の名盤と言ったら｢READING FESTIVAL 1973（REEL MASTERS-003）｣です（beatleg誌 vol.89の｢ｲﾀﾘｱﾝ/ﾕｰﾛ･ﾛｯｸ特集｣の｢ｲﾀﾘｱ ﾌﾞｰﾄﾍﾞｽﾄ10｣で1位に選出）｡本作は､あれ以来の衝撃｡いや､“名手ｼﾞｳﾞｧｽの存在”“ﾎｰﾑによる演奏”“ﾌﾙｽｹｰﾙの2枚組”も勘案すると､あの超名盤さえ凌いでしまいかねません｡2015年は､ﾗｲｳﾞ当日から40年｡まさに“40年に一度”の超傑作が登場してしまいました｡あまりの凄まじさに､喜びさえ麻痺してしまう1本｡ぜひ､今すぐ体験していただきたい｡
