1994年、「Both Sides」に伴うヨーロッパ･ツアーより、9月3日のドイツはハノーヴァー公演を2時間30分に渡って超高音質オーディエンス録音で完全収録。普通に聴いていれば、オフィシャル･ライブ盤にしか聴こえないレベルの大別格録音版。通常、聴き進めばライン録音かオーディエンスによるマイク録音か容易に判断がつくものですが、本盤に関しては「本当はサウンドボード録音ではないのか？」と誰もが驚きの思いで聴き進むであろう、驚愕のレベルの音質です。音の密集感や曲間の歓声でやはりマイク録音であることが判断できますが、本盤が1994年ツアー最高の逸品であることは間違いありません。曲間ではフィルは達者なドイツ語でのMCで観客を盛り上げます。ショウの前半でにフィーチャーされた「Both Sides」収録ナンバー、往年のソロヒットナンバーと、多彩なナンバーで彩られた充実のセットを最高レベルのサウンドで楽しめます。オープニングのドラム・デュエットからラストの11分に及ぶ感動のTake Me Home までたっぷりと楽しめるお薦めの一枚です。

94年の4月よりスタートしたフィル・コリンズの完全ソロ・アーチストとしての初ツアーは一年以上も続く大きなツアーとなった。アルバム「Both Sides」はGENESIS正式脱退後に、ほぼ一人で殆どの楽器を手掛けたシンプルなアルバムとなったが、ツアー自体はアルバムの曲を披露しつつも、80年代の音楽シーンを駆け抜けた男の集大成的なセットリストとなっている。このドイツ公演は、短いオフの後、MTVへのアンプラグドライヴを経てのもの。そのまま、一気にツアーは12月半ばまで続く。ツアーの内容も充実してきており、セットリストにGENESISのナンバーBehind The Linesが復活していたりする。場所によっては続くSomething Happened On The Way To Heavenもセットリストに登場していなかったりする。このツアーでは、初めてGENESIS、ソロツアーとコンビを組んでいたチェスター・トンプソンではなく、元イエロー・ジャケットのリッキー・ローソンがドラムを担当している。その関係ではないだろうが、初期のソロ作のおける曲のアレンジは大きく変わっており、ドラムのバトルに続くI Don’t Care Anymoreなど、かなり変化している。オーディエンス録音ではあるが、時代は90年代に入り機材の性能も上がり、奇跡的に音が良い物が登場してもおかしくない。その位、この音源も素晴らしい音である。臨場感もあり、ストレスなくコンサートの全容が楽しめる。
