ミラクルマンの録音した1976年オリビア・ニュートン・ジョン武道館公演！！「ラブ・パフォーマンス・ツアー・イン・ジャパン」と題され、東京、大阪、名古屋、広島と主要都市で13万人を動員、一般マスコミをも巻き込む社会現象になったオリビア・ニュートン・ジョンの初の単独来日公演より、1976年12月1日武道館公演を高音質オーディエンス録音で完全収録！異例の周知の短さに伴うチケットの争奪戦、そして日本における圧倒的な人気との相乗効果で大きな話題をさらった1976年公演ですが、囁くように始まるオープニングの「Love Song」からエンディングの「I Honestly Love You」まで全てが代表曲で埋め尽くされ、約66分間と短めながらファンには納得のステージが展開されています。ミラクルマンは同年12月16日にレインボーのオーディエンス録音盤の最高峰「An Evening In December」（完売）を同じ武道館で録音していますので、ちょうどその16日前の同会場での録音ということになります。故に、ミラクルマンのアーリー・レコーディングと言えど、この日もレインボーと同レベルの機材で録音していると思われ、音質は実に素晴らしいものがあります。言うまでも無く、既発「BRING YOUR LOVE AROUND」(TRIAL)、そしてそのリマスター盤「FAIRY AT BUDOKANFAIRY AT BUDOKAN」よりも遥かに高音質。付属しているチケット・レプリカを見ると座席は「南スタンド2階 D列21番」とあり、ステージから離れているものの南スタンド・正面だけあり、PA正面から直に発せられたクリアーで繊細な音の響きを非常に良い感じで録音しています。華奢で妖精のようなルックスのオリビアの声が武道館の２階席でこんな風に聴こえていたという高品質なドキュメントであり、このタイトルを聴いて、不満を感じるファンは絶対にいないと断言できる、それは見事な録音です。おそらく70年代の録音テイク好きなら、この自然な音の響きと、距離感はあるものの喰い足りなさのない音の粒立ちには、十分にご満足頂けるのではないでしょうか。当時のカセット録音で、ここまで高域が劣化せずに残っているのは素晴らしく、繊細な音の響きを自然な質感でしっかりと捉えています。Take Me Home, Country Roads では拍手が巻き起こり楽音が遠くなる部分もありますが、演奏もそれに負けじとヒートアップして聴こえてくる中盤以降は更に感動的です。Let Me Be Thereでも手拍子がラウドに響きますが、逆に感動します。観客は静かな時は静かに聴き、熱狂すべきところは熱狂し、手拍子を打つべきところはキチンと手拍子を打つと言う感じで、聴いていて頼もしさも感じるほどに、非常に良いオーディエンスです。Jolene の1:07 – 1:17でテープチェンジのカットがありますが、既発から補填しています。オリビアの圧巻の歌唱に水を打ったように静まり返って聴いていた観客が熱狂的にレスポンスするI Honestly Love Youは、本当に凄い録音であり、凄いドキュメントです。聴き終わって思う事は、こんなに素晴らしい７０年代コンサートの録音盤と言うのはそう滅多にあるものではない、ということです。同年リリースされた1973年マウンテン録音盤同様に、今年のベスト録音に押す人もいると思われる大傑作。２階席の遠目からの録音で「Perfect」とレイトしたのは、この録音テイクのオリジナリティの高さ、そしてこれ以上のものは存在しないと思うほどに良くできたドキュメント盤に仕上がっているからです。（そういう意味ではマウンテンと似てますね）

ディスク2には同日武道館をTBSラジオ音源より収録したテイクを8曲収録・初CD化。当時のDJのコメントが時代を感じさせますが、上品な語りですので、雰囲気を壊すことはありません。このエアチェック音源はミラクルマンの提供によるもので、しっかりと保管されていたようで、テープ状態も非常に良く、高域もしっかりと出ている非常に優秀なテイクです。AMラジオで放送されたためモノラル・サウンドボード録音ですが、音質は問題ありません。この音の質感、ミックス、そしてDJの語りと、全てが、実に昭和の薫りに満ちており、こういったものに2014年末に触れることができることに、ある種の感慨を覚える程です。こういった音源も未来永劫記録するためにプレスディスクに収めておくことも意味のあることではないではないでしょうか。ラストは6曲、こちらは12月3日と4日に行われた大阪公演より抜粋されたラジオ・オンエアテイクを追加収録。既発のボーナスでも聞けた音源と同じですが、受信ノイズを緩和し、より聴きやすい音に仕上げています。武道館テイクに比べると、ややうるさめの音ですが、音質的には問題ありません。この公演は当時ライブ盤としてリリースが企画されていましたが、オリビア側からOKが出ずに、81年「Love Performance」としてリリースされる事になりますが、そのライブ盤には収録されていない曲も含まれており貴重な音源と言えます。ディスク1のオーディエンス録音と一緒に楽しむには最適な一枚と言えるでしょう。過去最良のオーディエスン録音と貴重なラジオ音源で、ちょうど38年前のこの時期に行われた1976年武道館公演を追体験できる、ファンには堪らない2枚組プレスCD。
