その音質たるや、21世紀の現在のデジタル録音の時代においてさえも不可能ではないかと思わせる超高音質なもので、このまま公式リリースしても耐えうるクオリティを誇っている。会場の空気をそのまま現代に伝えてくれる奥行きのあるレンジの広い音像、クリアに伸びる高音に響き渡る重低音、ミラードの録音は数多くあれど、この『LISTEN TO THIE EDDIE』は彼の中でも最高傑作のひとつであろう。実際にミラードが録音した『FOR BADGEHOLDERS ONLY』も高音質ではあるのだが、初日の本作と比べると一段落ちる感は否めない。ステージがバンド・メンバー4人の最高のパフォーマンスが融合した演奏であるならば、そこにテーパーとしてミラードも加わり、5人の邂逅によってこの名音源が生まれたと言うべきであろう。とにかく演奏が奇跡なら録音も奇跡的なものであり、それらが見事に合致し、結実したのが本作なのである。
