35年ぶりに来日し、大好評・大絶賛の中、”Heaven On Earth Japan Tour”を成功させたボストンの、10月6日の大阪市中央体育館公演の奇跡的レベルの極上音源をリリース致します！言うまでもなく、極上のステレオ・オーディエンス録音で完全収録された完全オリジナルマスターです！録音は、アリーナ14列右側（正面に吊り下げPAスピーカーあり）という絶好のポジションで行なわれたものです。一体どうやって録音したのか、ないしは、いかにこの日のPAが良かったか、まぁ恐らくその両方なわけでしょうが、間違いなく本盤は、日本公演のみならず、ボストン2014年「HEAVEN ON EARTH」ワールド・ツアーの中で最も音が良い録音、と断言させて頂きます。「こんな凄いオーディエンス録音を聴いたことが無い」と思える程の鉄壁サウンド。ですが、録音の音が良いから判ってしまったことかもしれませんが、なぜかこの日は完璧主義者のトムにしてはギターのミスプレイが多く、前半を中心に「あれ？」と思ってしまう部分が多かった日本ツアー唯一の公演でありました（具体的にはFeelin’ Satisfied 3分台（かなりめちゃくちゃ）、The Last Day Of School、Life, Love & Hope、Peace Of Mind、Don’t Look Back等々。名古屋公演でもFeelin’ Satisfiedの3:50で珍しく大きく音を外したりDon’t Look Back前半で引っ込んでしまったりしていたので、地方公演で何か機材がうまくいかないことでもあったのでしょうか？…などと勘繰ってしまいたくなる演奏ミスがこの日は散見されました。ですが、そういったことは、このライン録音のような鉄壁なサウンドで改めて聴き直して判ることで、実際、コンサート会場で見ている分には、99％判らなかったのではないでしょうか。実際、先の全米ツアーと全く同じセットリスト、ほぼ同じプロダクションを持ち込んで行なわれたジャパンツアーですが、ここ大阪でも１回限りの公演ということで、中年・壮年のファン（ボストンの全盛期には高校・大学生だった人たち）が大挙詰めかけ、開演前から大盛り上がりでした。トム・ショルツの単独でのギター・インプロとともに幕が開くとアリーナ席のオーディエンスは総立ちとなり、ボストン号の出艇に立ち会うこととなりました。そこから畳みかけられる全盛期のヒット曲のオンパレード、派手なライティングと大型スクリーン全面に映し出される壮大なイメージビジュアル。会場は完全にボストン号が旅立った宇宙世界に包まれ、オーディエンスはその冒険をサポートする地球連合軍と化しました。ショルツと彼の右腕ゲイリー・ピールが織りなすツインリードの重厚でロマンティックなサウンド、ジェフ・ニールのパワフルかつ正確無比なドラミング、トミー・デカーロの張りのあるボーカルにより、ドラマティックな展開を見せる楽曲が大音量で完全再現されていきます。その様子を余すところなく捉えたのが本盤です。大音量にもかかわらず、適正な入力モードを維持し、細部まで捉えきったこの音質にはコアなマニアでも驚喜されることでしょう。大阪公演では、ゲストの「アメリカンアイドル」ファイナリスト、シヴォーン・マグナスが早くもMore Than Feelingでコーラスに参加しました。それから一旦退き、終盤のWalk Onからまた凄まじいボーカル・パフォーマンスを披露しています。もう一人の女性メンバー、キンバリー・ダームもIt’s Been Such A Long Timeをはじめ、随所で澄んだボーカルを披露し、サイドギターとともにステージを彩りました。女性ボーカルの加入には賛否両論がありましたが、このステージを聴く限り、トム・ショルツ親分の構築する世界には必要な要素だったと納得できます。後半のELPばりにキーボード、ベース、ドラムのトリオで展開したインプロヴィゼーションでも、プログレ好きなショルツが弾けています。コンパクトかつ複雑な構成のヒット曲、そして長尺のインプロにも見事に対応した今回のメンバーは非常に優秀なスキルを持っていたことが分かります。恐らく今後、日本公演モノで、純粋なオーディエンス音源ではこれに勝るものは出てこないのではないでしょうか。それほどの自信を込めて送り出す決定版タイトルです。ボストンファンの方はもちろんのこと、ハードロックファンの方にも是非聴いていただきたいタイトルです。限定プレスCDで好評ZIONレーベルよりリリース決定です。
