単にオリジナルなだけではプレスはいたしませんが、本作のサウンドはその価値が十二分にあるスーパーサウンド。歓声とバンドサウンドの位置関係から客席録音なのは確か（そもそも録音者本人から渡されているので当たり前ですが）なものの、楽音の芯の太さ、クリアさ、ダイレクト感はまるでサウンドボード。エディの妙技が見事に切り立つサウンドには、音だけで感動してしまうほどです。観客のダイナミックなノリは“さすが本場！”という感じですが、それを混ぜ込ませず、端正なサウンドで収める手腕は実に日本人らしい。まるで東京公演のようなサウンドなのに、まわりは外人だらけ……ちょっと不思議な感覚に襲われるライヴアルバムなのです。
そんなサウンドで真空パックされた最新VAN HALENのライヴは、やはり最高！　オフの間にデイヴ・リー・ロスとエディ・ヴァン・ヘイレンが互いに微妙なコメントを語ってヒヤリともさせましたが、実際のライヴ・パフォーマンスにはそんなそぶりは微塵も感じられない。相変わらず、ギターもヴォーカルも熱いアメリカンHRの権化そのもの。ウォルフギャング・ヴァン・ヘイレンのテクニカルなベースも冴え渡り、まったくもって２年前の東京ドームの光景が甦ってくる熱演です。
全編 “さすがの伝説バンド！”という横綱相撲のパフォーマンスが繰り広げられるのですが、再結成も長くなってきたせいか、セットリストにはスパイスとなる曲が随所に配置されているのもポイント。オープニングからして1980年以来となる「Light Up The Sky」ですし、デビューアルバムからも「Feel Your Love Tonight」を披露（ゲイリー・シェローン時代にも演奏していましたが、デイヴとは1981年以来）。「In A Simple Rhyme（アルバムと同じく「Growth」付き！）」に至っては、1978年以来の復活です。さらにさらに注目なのは、「1984」からの「Drop Dead Legs」と、「FAIR WARNING」の「”Dirty Movies”」！　前者はリハーサル動画が宣伝として流されもしましたが、今回のツアーで初めてライヴ演奏されたレア曲なのです。ツアーが始まったときにも話題になりましたが、これほどのレア曲がここまでのサウンドで聴けるなんて……。この他にも「Little Guitars」「Woman In Love」など、オフィシャルのライヴアルバム「TOKYO DOME LIVE IN CONCERT」では聴けない曲が要所要所に散りばめられているのです。また、デイヴがアコースティックギターとブルースハープを持ち出す独壇場「Dave’s Rap」も聴きもの。その日その日でスポンティニアスに語り、歌うソロコーナーで、この日は「A DIFFERENT KIND OF TRUTH」の「Stay Frosty」も交えてムードたっぷりに聴かせてくれる。そして雪崩れ込む「Ice Cream Man」の格好いいこと！　デイヴはソロでもリメイクしていたカバーソングですが、ここではハープで暴れつつ、エディと渡り合う。互いが別れていた年月が一瞬で吹き飛びつつ、その合間も無駄ではなかったと感じるひとときです。
