本作ではその1980年までのRAINBOWを記録したプロショット映像を、優れた素材でひとつに集大成。ファンならば絶対に見ておきたい映像の数々を手軽に押さえる事ができる、ビギナーからマニアまで必携の一本です。

まず最初に登場するのは、ロニー時代より「RISING」ツアーの映像。この”World Tour 1976″は、以前から「Tour Documentary」等のタイトルで流通していたもので、本テイクは日本放送版を使用しています。フィルム・コンサート等でもお馴染みだった素材で、このフィルムがファンに与えた驚きは今も語り草。ドラムソロにおけるコージーの勇姿、リッチーのギタークラッシュの凄まじさに魅了されたファンも多いでしょう。
「Over The Rainbow」での幕開けと「Man On The Silver Mountain」はもちろんですが、やはり嬉しいのは「Stargazer」そして「A Light In The Black」と、それに続くリッチーのショートインタビュー。リッチーから「ロンに任せるよ」と回答を振られたロニーが、ステージに掛かる虹の電飾について説明するシーンは、やはり見逃せません
続いては同じく「RISING」当時から、’76年9月29日のドイツ・ミュンヘン公演における「Do You Close Your Eyes」です。こちらはモノクロ映像ですが、しっかりとしたマルチカメラ・プロショット収録。リッチーのギタークラッシュも確かな安定感の音と映像で楽しめます。
ロニー時代のラストは「LONG LIVE ROCK ‘N’ ROLL」からのプロモ・クリップ4曲を収録。これは1978年5月から始まったアメリカツアーの前に、音楽番組”DON KIRSHNER’S ROCK CONCERT”用に作成されたと言われ、日本でも放送されました。
「Gates Of Babylon」は、砂漠のイメージ・ショットがインサートされたおなじみの素材。こちらはオフィシャル作品には収録されていないため、確かな素材でコレクションできるのは嬉しいところ。このほか「L.A. Connection」や「Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll」も、演奏はスタジオ・テイクと同一でも、ロニーのヴォーカルは全てクリップ用に収録されたものへ差し替えられています。また、4トラック目の「Gates Of Babylon」はステージでの映像を当てはめた、擬似ライヴ映像となっています。

後半はグラハム・ボネット在籍時の映像。そのメインとなるのは、1980年8月の”モンスターズ・オブ・ロック”における約30分のプロショット。この映像は”コージー・テープ”での素材が最優秀バージョンとして知られます。ここでの映像はそちらと比べれば若干見劣るものの、それでも高いクオリティで収録されています。「All Night Long」以外は断片的な収録ですが、グラハムやコージーといった実力者が揃ったこの時期は、バンドの歴史上でも「最強」と形容されるだけあって、思わず見入ってしまいます。
ラストは1980年ヨーロッパツアーより、2月16日のミュンヘン公演における「All Night Long」を収めたプロショット。本作中ではこの素材のみクオリティが下がりますが、グラハム時代で”モンスターズ・オブ・ロック”以外のプロショットは（現時点で）本映像が知られる程度。熱唱・熱演するグラハムの横では、リッチーもカメラを意識したような、凄いアクションを決めています。

全てが定番映像ではありますが、それだけに全てのRAINBOWファンが手元にコレクションしたい決定版コンピレーション。ビギナーからマニアまで、誰もが納得し、楽しめる内容となっています。音源でRAINBOWの演奏を聴き入った後は、映像の本作でバンドの魅力を味わってください！
