アメリカン・プログレの雄、カンサスがブレイク直後の1977年12月13日にプロヴィデンスのシヴィック・センターで行ったパフォーマンスを収録した2枚組。大傑作『Leftoverture』を経て、ポップス・ヒット作の『Point of Know Return』と立て続けに名作を送り込んで来たカンサスの1977年～78年のツアーから編纂されたスーパー・ライヴ・アルバム『Two for the Show』と同時期のライヴ・パフォーマンスなだけに、衝撃的かつ安定したプログレッシヴ・ロックを聴かせてくれる。『Two for the Show』はセット・リストを無視して代表曲ばかりを並べた作りとなっており、2008年のリマスター・ヴァージョンでは2枚組CDで全24曲も収録されていたが、それでも曲順はバラバラのままだった。本作は、人気絶頂期のカンサスのコンサートをセット・リストそのままに浸ることが出来る好盤だ。録音は有名なダン・ランピンスキーが行ったもので、一瞬サウンドボード音源と聴き間違うほどのクォリティが堪能できる。シングル・ヒットした「Point Of Know Return」や「Dust In The Wind」、「Carry On Wayward Son」などのメロディーラインの素晴らしさは言うまでもなく、「Icarus」や「Portrait」、「Magnum Opus」などのプログレ的エッセンスを持つ名曲たちの名演も聴き逃せない。またブリティッシュ・バンドのようにひとりひとりの知名度は高くはないものの、メンバーごとのソロ・パートも凄いテクニックの応酬がくり広げられており、大満足の作品となっている。プログレ・ファン、アメリカン・ロック・ファンにお薦め。
