1990 Royal Albert Hall performance. January 30, 31, and February 1, the latter half of the 13-piece band 6 performances, from the 18 consecutive performances that have been performed while changing the band form, such as 4-piece, 13-piece, blues, and orchestra. Completely recorded 3 nights continuous performances with super high quality stereo audience recording of the highest level. For the 4-piece, blues, and orchestra performances, there is a complete sound board version for each, and for the other performances, there are all performances recorded by the audience, but for the 13-piece band, it will be the first day on the 26th. The performances only existed in the complete recording version, and the remaining 5 performances only had sources between traders, and there were no incomplete versions or sources that could be called high-quality sound. The source recorded in this title is recorded with unbelievably high sound quality from the cassette master recorded by the people concerned who have not been released at all for 20 years.
It’s a 13-piece band with almost the same set list as the 4-piece band, but some songs have a fairly detailed arrangement, and the completed horn section of “I Shot The Sheriff”, “Before”. As a result, many songs that can be heard only in this performance are recorded, such as arrangements that directed the heyday of the big band in “You Accuse Me”. And the performances of the four people who are the core of the band are also clear every day, especially Clapton’s play is from the band form that can stand around most freely, skipping from the opening “Pretending”, and “Running On Faith” The fast and flowing solo assembly, the daily sustain of “Bad Love”, and the stage that makes you recognize that the 13-piece band play was the best in the 1990 RAH performance. And Jerry Lynn Williams’ guest appearance on “No Alibis” on both January 31st and February 1st may be the biggest event for core fans.
The sound quality is recorded from the master cassette, and of course there are small gaps between songs due to tape changes, but everything else is recorded, and the surprising sound quality is the weak point of the venue where the box ringing is intense. All performances are recorded with stable and superb high-quality sound that does not make you feel. And this title, which will be the first appearance of all of them, is of quality that will be one of the best audience recordings of not only RAH performances but also overseas performances in 1990. The long-awaited release of the 13-piece band 3 consecutive performances that appeared after 20 years is a set of 6 press CDs.

It was noted that Eric Clapton and the Royal Albert Hall 18 nights continuous performance in the early 1990s were scheduled in four forms of band formation. It also broke an unprecedented record in the British entertainment world at this point. The first 6 days were 4 pieces, the next 6 days were 13 pieces, the next 3 days were blues, and the last 3 days were an orchestra. The sound source of the performance by was not included in the official board “24 NIGHTS” at all, and even in the boot, the performance on the 26th of the first day only existed with reasonable sound quality. In such a situation, the sound source of the full stage for the latter three days, which was completely unreleased by this work, finally saw the light of day. The schedule is January 30th, 31st, and February 1st. Both are new excavation masters from cassette tapes recorded by the same recorder and related parties, and are completely recorded with a very good stereo audience recording. Therefore, it was released on Factory Press 6CD. The sale of the 13-piece band is, after all, the participation of four horn sections in addition to the base nine-piece members. Moreover, the horn section was not appointed in the 24 nights continuous performance of the following year. In other words, it is only the three nights captured in this work that you can listen to the live with the horn of “Journeyman Tour” with the best sound quality. It is no exaggeration to say that the skillfully arranged horns that can be heard in each song seem to energize familiar songs, and that all songs are powered up. Especially, the coolness of Pretending, Running On Faith, Breaking Point, and No Alibis recorded in “JOURNEYMAN” is excellent. The horn is also stuck in No Alibis. The sharpness of the horn is the best, including Randy Brecker of Brecker Brothers. If it gets so good, it’s a level that I could have done in this form from the first day. Also happy is the late Jerry Lynn, an artist who has provided songs such as “Forever Man”, “Pretending”, “No Alibis” and “Running On Faith” on January 31st and February 1st. It includes a happening that Lynn Williams is a guest on “No Alibis”. There has never been a live sound source that he co-starred with Clapton, so if you are a fan of Clapton who still remembers the spirit of mourning for Williams, this sound source should be listened to. This alone would be worth it for enthusiasts. Tape changes are made between songs, but the songs are not affected, so you can listen to them with confidence. It is a very satisfying content for enthusiasts who emphasize sound sources.

1990年ロイヤル・アルバート・ホール公演。4ピース、13ピース、ブルース、オーケストラと、バンド形態を変えつつ行われた歴史に残る18連続公演より、13ピース・バンド6公演の後半となる、1月30日、31日、2月1日の3夜連続公演を極上レベルの超高音質ステレオ・オーディエンス録音で完全収録。4ピース、ブルース、オーケストラ公演については、それぞれがサウンド・ボード完全版が存在し、その他の公演はオーディエンス収録で全公演が存在しますが、13ピース・バンドに限っては、初日となる26日公演が完全収録版で存在するのみで、残る5公演はトレーダー間のソースが存在するだけで、不完全版や音質も高音質と呼べるソースはありませんでした。本タイトルに収録されているソースは、20年の間、一切公開されなかった関係者が録音したカセット・マスターから、全公演を信じ難い高音質で収録しています。
4ピースバンドとほぼ同一のセットリストで行われた13ピース・バンドですが、楽曲によってはかなり緻密なアレンジが施されており、「I Shot The Sheriff」での完成されたホーン・セクション、「Before You Accuse Me」でのビッグバンド全盛期を演出したアレンジ等々、結果的にこの公演のみで聴く事ができる楽曲が多数収録されています。そしてバンドの核となる4人の演奏も連日に於いて冴え渡り、特にクラプトンのプレイは、最も自由に立ち回れるバンド形態からか、オープニングの「Pretending」から飛ばし捲くり、「Running On Faith」での速く且つ流れるソロの組み立て、「Bad Love」の日替わりのサステーィーンと、90年RAH公演の中では13ピース・バンドのプレイが最も秀でていたと認識させるステージを収録しています。そして、1月31日、2月1日の両公演にJerry Lynn Williamsが「No Alibis」にゲスト出演している事が、コアなファンにとっては最も大きな事件かも知れません。
音質はマスター・カセットからの収録で、テープチェンジによる曲間の小さな欠落は勿論有りますが、その他は全てを収録しており、驚くべきはその音質で、箱鳴りの激しい会場のウィーク・ポイントを感じさせない安定した極上レベルの高音質で全公演を収録しています。そしてその全てが初登場となる本タイトルは、RAH公演のみならず、90年海外公演の最も優れたオーディエンス録音盤の一つとなるクオリティです。20年を経て登場した13ピース・バンド3連続公演がプレスCD6枚組で待望のリリースです。

90年初頭のエリック・クラプトン、ロイヤル・アルバート・ホール18夜連続公演は、日程的に４形態のバンド編成で行なわれたのが注目された。またこれはこの時点でイギリスの興行界における前人未到の記録を更新した。最初の６日間は4ピース、次の６日間は13ピース、次の３日間はブルース、最後の３日間はオーケストラと、演奏形態を変えて行われたのだが、本作に捉えられた13ピースによる公演の音源は、オフィシャル盤『24 NIGHTS』にも一切収められず、ブートにおいても初日の26日公演がまずまずの音質で存在するだけだった。そんな状況の中、遂に本作により完全未発表だった後半３日間のフル・ステージの音源が日の目を見ることになったのである。日程的には１月30日、31日、２月１日である。いずれも同一録音者、しかも関係者が録音したカセット・テープからの新発掘マスターで、非常に良好なステレオ・オーディエンス録音で完全収録されている。従ってファクトリー・プレス６CDでリリースされたというわけである。13ピース・バンドの売りは、何と言ってもベースとなる９ピースのメンバーに加え、ホーン・セクション４人が参加していたことに尽きる。しかも翌年の24夜連続公演では、ホーン・セクションは起用されなかった。つまり「ジャーニーマン・ツアー」のホーン入りのライブを最高の音質で聴けるのは、本作に捉えられた３夜だけというわけである。各曲で聴ける、巧みにアレンジされたホーンはお馴染みの楽曲に活力を与えているように感じられ、すべての曲がパワーアップしていると言っても過言ではない。特に『JOURNEYMAN』収録のPretending、Running On Faith、Breaking Point、No Alibisあたりのかっこよさは秀逸である。またNo Alibis にもホーンははまりまくっている。ホーンの切れ味は最高で、中にはブレッカー・ブラザーズのランディ・ブレッカーも名を連ねている。こんなに良くなるなら、初日からずっとこの形態でやってもよかったとさえ思えるレベルだ。また嬉しいことに、１月31日、２月１日の両日には、「Forever Man」、「Pretending」、「No Alibis」、「Running On Faith」などの曲を提供してきたアーティスト、故ジェリー・リン・ウィリアムスが「No Alibis」にゲスト参加しているというハプニングを含んでいる。彼がクラプトンと共演したライブ音源は出てきたことがなかったので、今でもウィリアムスへの追悼精神を忘れないクラプトンにあっては、この音源はファンならば是非聴いていただきたいところ。マニアにはこれだけでも価値はあるだろう。曲間でテープチェンジが行なわれているが、楽曲部分には影響はないので、安心して聴くことができる。音源重視のマニアにとっては大満足の内容である。
