ジギーを産み出したボウイの新たなる挑戦と冒険を挑んだ1972年ツアーの序盤におけるライブ音源は既に何種類かリリースされており、その貴重性を垣間見ることができるものだが、その中にまた新たに貴重な記録音源がリリースされることになった。1972年6月12日イギリスのトーキーに於けるジギー時代初期のライブ音源だ。当然モノラルながらもかなりバランスの取れた音質で収録されており、プレスインフォのように骨董性すら感じさせる音像に仕上がっているが、ボウイの歌声からそれぞれの楽器のバランスまで見事に収録されており、非常に聴きやすく、楽しめる内容となっている。勿論、ライブの中身も興味深い代物で、まだジギーに成り切っていないボウイはかなりリラックスした様子でライブを楽しんでいることが良く分かるだろう。ステージ冒頭からは新曲で攻め立てていき、前作「ハンキードリー」の作品を絡めて聴衆を虜にしていくが、やはり「Amsterdam」という稀代の名曲あたりではリラックスしている様子が伺え、更にクリームの「I Feel Fine」がプレイされている時代というのもの注目だ。アレンジが完全にジギーになっている点がこの時代の凄さ。以降、カバー曲が4曲揃えられている所も人のふんどしで相撲を取るのが上手いボウイらしい。
