2016年America Latina Oleツアーの二日目、ブエノスアイレス初日も同時にリリース!こちらも公演直後に現れたオーディエンス録音を元にリマスター。登場した当初で本体の音源を聴かれた人ならご存知かと思われますが、こちらの録音はサンチャゴとまったく正反対の録音状態。そちらが演奏と観客の盛り上がりの両方をかなりオンな音像で捉えていたというだけでなく、ややディスタントな音像がこれまた2016年のオーディエンス録音としては珍しいものですが、今回のリリースに当たりリマスターを施したことで、音像の輪郭がシャープになったのはもちろん、何といってもクリアネスが飛躍的に向上を遂げたのです!
いい意味での荒くれ録音だったサンチャゴの迫力満点な臨場感は素晴らしいものがあるのですが、まったく正反対なこの録音が醸し出す、繊細な臨場感やクリアネスも実に魅力的。聴いているこっちまで乗せられてしまいそうな熱狂を見せていたサンチャゴに対し、ブエノスアイレスも負けていません。しかしながら、音像の距離感によって独特の聴きやすさが生まれており、最新ストーンズのライブを「落ち着いて、じっくりと」聴き込みたいという向きにはこちらブエノスアイレスをおすすめしたいと思います。

サンチャゴでは盛り上がりがいま一つ、むしろ演奏を無視するかのようなお喋りまで客席の間で始まってしまった「Out of Control」でしたが、ここブエノスアイレスではイントロから大盛り上がり。その後のウェブ投票ソングが「Street Fighting Man」というチョイスだった点は、やや拍子抜け感が否めませんが、先の「Out of~」で盛り上がった観客に向けて、久々の「Anybody Seen My Baby?」というバビロンつながりナンバーが演奏されたのは最高のタイミングでしょう。既にサンチャゴでのウェブ投票でも登場していたレパートリーですので、世界中のマニアにとって驚きの復活が遂に実現しました。
ただし、ミックの歌はブランク感がありありと見て取れます。1997年から98年のバビロン・ツアーの際でも、スタジオ・テイクからオクターブ上げて歌うライブ・アレンジにミックが四苦八苦していた感が否めず、それが今回はブランクと相まって危うい調子。しかし後半のバーナード・ファウラーとのラップが本当に懐かしい。これはせっかく復活してくれたのだから、今後もステージで取り上げて演奏を磨き上げてほしいものです。しかもサンチャゴとブエノスアイレス、どちらもバビロンつながりのレア・ナンバーが演奏されたという点が何とも興味深いではありませんか。

続く「Paint It Black」はこの日最高の演奏。観客の大合唱はサンチャゴをも凌ぐほどで、ディスタントな音像だからこそ、むしろこの最高の盛り上がりがリアルに捉えられている点が素晴らしい!エンディングはミックと観客の合唱が続き、本当に感動的な場面となっているのです。ライブ全体が大合唱であったサンチャゴも、ここでの別格の盛り上がりには脱帽せざるを得ないでしょう。
一方でキースは「Can’t Be Seen」を何ともまったりしたテンポで演奏したかと思えば、十八番の「Happy」を最近のキーを下げた位置からではなく、弾きなれたレギュラーの位置で押さえて弾き始めてしまうずっこけで健在ぶりを示してくれるのも楽しい。今回リリースされる二種類の南米公演、それぞれが独自の魅力を持った音源です。ワイルダネスのサンチャゴとクリアネスのブエノスアイレス、それぞれにストーンズ最新のアツいステージが限定のプレスCDに刻み込まれました!
