人気のT&J音源による2014年日本公演ベストとも言うべき『14 ON FIRE JAPAN TOUR – TOKYO TRILOGY』のリリース時、ボーナス・アイテムとして付属していた『TOKYO TRILOGY II ORANGE MIX』のプレスCD化が実現します。今年の来日三公演からのベスト・パートを二枚のディスクにまとめた先のタイトルのスタイルを踏襲しつつも、それでいてオレンジ・スリー音源を使用したことでまたしてもプレス化の要望が上がったことに当店としても驚いています。当初は当店としてもボーナス・アイテムCD-Rのレベルで終わらせるつもりで作ったCD-Rタイトルでしたので、プレスのCDによるリリースとはいえ、今回は価格も可能な限り抑え、あくまでお求めやすい形でプレスCDバージョンの登場となりました。
『14 ON FIRE JAPAN TOUR – TOKYO TRILOGY』と内容は同じですが、ご存じのように音質はまったく違います。「ウォーミー」が専売特許だったT&J録音に対し、オレンジ音源はというと「ナチュラル」で「スッキリとした高音の伸び」などが魅力であることは定評の通りです。ですので「オレンジ音源でもトリロジーを聴きたい」と思われていた方には絶対に楽しんでいただけることでしょう。現在当店でリリースが進行中のヨーロッパ・ツアーと比べて東京ドーム音源のジェントルでスマートな臨場感というのは日本でなければあり得ないこと。それを聴き比べていただくのも一興かもしれません。それに以前から申し上げてきましたように、やはり「Wild Horses」を始めとしたスロー系ナンバーに関しては静かな演奏を聞き入る日本人の対応と相まって、俄然こちらの方が良い演奏だと思います。
