今回のタイトルでベースとなったのもそのバージョンなのですが、もちろんそれをただリリースするようなことはしません。まず、ファンが正しい曲順に直した際、いくつか見過ごされていた、演奏以外の曲間の音の時系列の細かな編集違いをいくつか見直し（一聴しただけではどこを直したのか解らないほど綺麗に編集直しました）、また一部で残っていた元のLPのスクラッチ・ノイズに関しても丁寧に除去してあります。そしてファン編集バージョンにおける目玉となった先の二曲の補填ですが、これら別音源の音質がLPよりも落ちるのは仕方ないとしても、ピッチが遅いままで収録されていたことが、せっかくの完全版編集を台無しにしていました。ここではそれら二曲のピッチも正確にアジャストし、音量レベルの調節と全編通して格段に聴きやすい完全版、さらにはプレスのCDでリリースするに相応しい状態へと仕上げてあります。
そして元のLPのパートに関しては、ハンプトンのような大会場らしい、演奏に距離感のある音像ではありますが、それでいて臨場感や広がりのある音質が78年ツアーのオーディエンス録音の中でも上位に属するもので、これほど聴きやすい優良音源がこれまでリリースされて来なかったことに驚かれる方も多いのではないでしょうか。さらにツアー前半ということで、昨年オフィシャルDVDがリリースされたフォートワースのような7月の演奏と比べて、まだ落ち着きのある演奏が新鮮に聴こえるかとも思われます。しかし、ツアーの序盤ほど手探りな演奏という訳でもなく、特に「Lies」以降のミックの張り切りや、どうしたことかキースがこのツアーのレギュラー・アレンジと違う、アルバム・バージョンのキーで弾き始めてしまう「Tumbling Dice」など、聴きやすい音質だけでなく、その78年らしいハプニングや激しさも存分に味わえる名演を心ゆくまでお楽しみください。これにてストーンズ歴代のハンプトン公演が出揃いました！限定のプレスCDでのリリースです。
