1989年の「STEEL WHEELS」アメリカ・ツアーからダラス、コットン・ボウルでのライブの模様を収録したプロショット映像をプレスのDVDにてリリース。この映像は当日の会場で流されたスクリーン用映像を記録用として録画していたものがリークして現在までアメリカ・ツアーの定番映像として親しまれてきたものです。故に最近でもDVD-Rレベルのアイテムはいくつも出ていましたが、今回は上位マスターを入手して過去最高の画質を実現しました。先のような理由で録画されてしかもリークしてきた映像ですので、タイム・カウンターが入った状態は入ったままなのですが、画質自体の向上は素晴らしいものがあります。特に照明が赤や青に照らされた際の滲みやぼやけがすっかり落ち着いて見やすくなりましたし、さらには被写体の輪郭のシャープさがアップ。本当に見やすい状態になりました。
それにこの映像は元々一般公開やリリースを前提としたものではないので、演奏のミックスがラフなモノラル・サウンドボード録音となっています。中でも昔から定評高いのは「キースの音が大きい」バランスであるということ。本当に彼のギターの音が大きいので序盤はロニーのギターの音がすっかりかき消されるほどなのですが、例えば「Miss You」の間奏辺りといった要所要所のプレイはしっかり聴き取れます。さらに今回はモノラル録音を疑似ステレオ処理することで不自然さのない程度にステレオ感を生み出すことに成功しました。
その音質からCDもリリースされている日ではありますが、このライブは絶対に映像で見ていただきたいもの。何故ならこの日の主人公はキースなのです！それは単に音量が大きいから、といった理由だけではありません。彼は「Mixed Emotion」辺りから火が点いたのでしょう、いつも以上にステージ上を歩きまわりながらギターをノリノリで弾いているのです。そんな彼のスイッチがオンとなり、いい感じでピークを迎えたのはもちろん自分の持ち歌です（笑）。「Happy」では演奏が進むにつれてキースがどんどん弾きまくり、最後は鬼気迫るほどのハイ・ボルテージで演奏を終えました。本当にこの時のキースは別格で、それを見たビルが流し眼で「お、今日のキースはノッてるな」という表情が爆笑です！
その後もキースは「Midnight Rambler」の中間で（これはおなじみですが）ミックを笑わせる、「Sympathy For The Devil」でも弾きまくるなど、本当に凄まじい演奏ぶり。一方でミックは「Brown Sugar」の歌い出しのタイミングを間違えてしまうのですが、そのまま「sorry」と言いながら歌い直す余裕ぶりが見事です。ツアーが終盤を迎えつつあり、世界中が注目する中で始まった再活動が上手くいったという安堵感が成せる技なのでしょうか。さらにここでのキースも凄まじいプレイを聴かせてくれます。千秋楽アトランティック・シティまで一ヵ月、改めて気合の入った素晴らしい演奏を聴かせるストーンズ89年の定番映像の決定版が登場します！
