1986年「MAGIC TOUR」5日目、6月16日のベルギーはブリュッセル公演を極上レベルの高音質オーディエンス録音で完全収録！3年前にリリースされたUxbridge盤「Brussels Magic」とは全く別マスターの驚愕の新音源をリマスター収録。元々、この公演には音質極悪のものしか存在せず、当然ブート化はなく、2011年になって新たに登場した優良マスターを収録した前述の「Brussels Magic」で、ようやく日の目を見た公演でした。そして2014年、驚くべきことに、この日の第3のソースが登場。しかもディープなマニア間でも、1986年ウィーンやネブワースに匹敵する音の良さと評判の極上オーディエンス録音なのです。既発「Brussels Magic」は「Sanyo TRC-2300」を使用しての録音でしたが、本盤のテイクは「SONY D6C」。既発も大変優れた録音であり、本来ならプレスCDが相応しいと思われる程のハイグレードな音源でしたが、本盤は音質は勿論のこと、音の完成度において既発を上回る内容のアッパー版であり、しかも最長で録られていることを考えると、間違いなくこの日の決定版と断言できるものです。今回の新音源は、既発に比べ歓声が少なめで、その分、ボーカル・楽音をしっかりと捉えているのが特徴です。テープチェンジは既発同様にI Want To Break Freeの終演後にありますが、Impromptu冒頭は「Brussels Magic」より10秒以上長く収録されていますので、この部分を初めてクリアーな音で聴くことができます。Bohemian Rhapsody 終演後にも短めながらテープチェンジの欠損があり、ここは「Brussels Magic」の歓声で繋いでますが、そこを聴くといかに本盤の歓声が小さめに録音されているかが判ります。この日はフレディが冒頭、高域が苦しそうに感じる箇所があり不調か？と思っていたのですが、ショウが進むにつれて、ボーカルはどんどん出てくるようになっているようで、中盤から後半にかけては絶好調のボーカルを聴くことができます。録音の方もショウの進行とともにどんどん良くなる感じで、特にディスク2などは、1986年屈指のサウンドで収録されていることに気づきます。勿論、「Brussels Magic」も大変優れた録音なのですが、この時代に、ここまで良質な録音が2種、しかも21世紀を10年以上過ぎたあたりから出回ったことが不思議に思えます。音の鮮度もクリアネスも異様なほどに素晴らしいです。Under Pressure終演後、フレディの「I think this is the hottest gig we’ve ever done so far, I tell you. It’s so fucking hot!」と叫びますが、ホットなショウ同様に、ブリュッセルの当日の気温も相当高かったのでしょう。1986年ブリュッセル公演を捉えた極上音質ニューソースをいち早くプレスCD化。好評Wardourレーベルより限定リリース決定です。
