1975年、サードアルバム「SHEER HEART ATTACK」に伴う、QUEEN伝説の初来日公演より、ジャパン･ツアー最終日、5月1日武道館公演を、トレーダー間でも一切出回っていない、激レアなマスターカセットをダイレクトに使用した本公演の最高音質盤がWardour labelより登場です。非常にダイナミックでクリアーな音で録音されている上、周囲に嬌声を上げる客がいないことが幸いして、大変聞きやすい音で、コンサートを集中して聴く事ができます。QUEENの70年代日本公演録音は、周囲の絶叫と手拍子に楽音が負けてしまうことが多いのですが、このテイクはそういった欠点が非常に少ない優れた録音であり、音の太さ、ダイナミズム、分離感ともに素晴らしく、音質だけをとれば、間違いなくこの日のテイクの決定版です。ボーカルは勿論、ピアノ、ギターを始めとした各楽器音も大変クリアーに収録されており、先日発売され好評の「Operatic Ecstasy」と同レベルのクオリティと言えるでしょう。しかしながら、本テイクには、録音者が1曲目のNow I’m Hereの最中に一時停止ボタンを押してしまい、この曲が殆ど収録されていないという大きな欠点があります。その代わりに同日録音盤「First Live Attack」(Private Masters)のメーカーより許可を得て、同盤テイクにて欠落部分を補完しています。テープチェンジは「First Live Attack」同様、ブライアンのギターソロにあるのですが、既発とはカットポイントの部分が違うので、こちらも補填することで、この日の最長録音を実現しています。よって全体的には、大変、素晴らしい音質でコンサートを完全に収録しているので、マニアはは勿論、ビギナーの方にも安心してお薦めできます。後のエンタティメント・ロックとはまた違った、アーチスティックで繊細な、至高のQUEENワールドを、華麗にステージ上で展開してくれた伝説の初来日公演。この時期のみのGreat King Rat、Hangman、Doing All Rightなどがプレイされる前半部分は、コンサートの聴き所のひとつです。決して蘇ることのない貴重なQUEENのライブドキュメントに、新たなる重要タイトルが加わります。300枚限定プレスCDにてリリース決定です。

初来日最終公演にあたる1975年5月1日（木）の武道館公演はこれまでにLP『Kimono My Place Live! (TQ-75122)』と2CD『First Live Attack (PM007/008)』にて2種類のテープがブート化されているが、今回はブートレッグ 初登場となる3種類目のオーディエンス・テープから収録されている。但し、元のテープに欠落があるようで「Now I’m Here」トラック・タイム(0.58)～「Ogre Battle」トラック・タイム(0.37)と「Son And Daughter」トラック・タイム(11.09)～(13.06)は2CD『First Live Attack (PM007/008)』と同オーディエンス・テープにて編集されている。少なくとも2CD『First Live Attack (PM007/008)』より音像は近く、幸いにも録音機周辺で黄色い歓声を上げている女性が居ないようで、非常に聴き易い音質となっている。例えば、湯川れい子さんが「アイドル・バンドがこれだけの演奏をすればティーン・エイジャーの耳も肥えるだろう」といったコンサート・レビューをしていたように、アイドル的人気を酷評するコンサート評が当時多かったのは事実であるが、ライヴ・パ
フォーマンスとしてのアレンジ、選曲、構成は練りに練られていることをクイーンのファンでない人もこのような良質の音源から見直してみるのも良いだろう。尚、この公演はLD/VTR『Magic Years Volume Two』で「Budokan, Tokyo, 19th April, 1975」と間違った日付クレジットにて「Now I’m Here」と「In The Lap Of The Gods…Revisited」がそれぞれ部分的に鑑賞出来るが、元々はワーナー・パイオニアが来日のドキュメンタリー・フィルムとして作成したものであり、その中には「Killer Queen」も含まれている。もし、コンサートの完全版が存在するのであれば、いつの日かオフィシャルとしてリリースして貰いたいものだ。
