2度目の来日となった1972年日本ツアーより、初日3月6日は東京体育館公演を過去最長の2時間2分に渡って、高音質オーディエンス録音で完全収録。既発に同じSigmaより決定盤と評された「Acid Moon」がありますが、そちらは1時間47分の収録でしたので、なんと、15分近く長く収録されていることになります。本盤は日本屈指のフロイド・コレクターから入手した、あらゆるポイントから見て、現状最良のマスターコピーを使用したもの。収録時間の長さの圧倒的なアドバンテージ同様に、音質も既発「Acid Moon」を完全に凌駕しており、ヒスノイズが少ない上に、楽音も含め、音の全てがより明瞭に収録されていることが、一聴して、容易に判断することができます。マスターそのものは「Acid Moon」と同じですので、ジェネレーションがまるで違うことが分かります。エンディングEclipseは、既発はウィーンと言う楽音の途中で終了しますが、本盤は終演後までしっかりと収録されており、観客に対する「ありがとう、ここで15分間の休憩だ」というロジャーのMCも明瞭に聴くことができます。（この部分は、30秒長く収録されている。）冒頭がテープチェンジにより欠落しているUs And Themの20秒間は、FM東京の放送テイク（オーディエンス録音）から自然にパッチしてあります。この部分も指摘されなければ、パッチが分からない程ですので、今回の音がいかに優秀かお判りになられると思います。そして凄いのは第二部で、こちらは既発「Acid Moon」より14分も長く収録されているわけですが、理由は、楽曲毎にカットされていた曲間が、こちらは全て収録されています。特に第二部冒頭の既発未収の糸井五郎氏のMCの収録が嬉しい所です。

糸井五郎氏の「ありがとうございました。ピンクフロイドの演奏会。（ここでメンバー紹介）本当に本当にご声援ありがとうございました。」というMCは本編最後にもあり、こちらは「Acid Moon」も収録されていましたが、既発がMCご直ぐに切れてしまうのに対し、2分30秒以上、歓声が途切れなく入っています。A Saucerful Of Secrets前のチューニング＆サウンドチェックも長めに入っており（2分30秒）、こちらも非常に重要です。歴史に残る名曲「The Dark Side Of The Moon」日本初演をここまで優れた音質で、最長録音した本盤の価値は計り知れないものがあります。内容・価値・音質、全てが最良・最強・最高の、全フロイド・ファン必聴のタイトルが登場です。

新曲「Dark Side Of The Moon」が演奏された1972年の日本ツアーから最初に流通した音源は、来日直後にリリースされた3枚組ブートLP収録の大阪公演、あるいはアセテート盤に収録された京都公演だろう。共に超稀少盤が故に簡単に耳にすることが叶わなかったのだが、1990年代になって海賊盤のデジタル化が進むと東京公演と札幌公演がCD化され、ファンの溜飲を下げたことは言うまでもない。東京公演については初日と2日目が相次いでCD化されたが、特に初日を収録した『Live In Tokyo 1972 (2CD:Amsterdam AMS9616-2-1/2)』は、アンコールや幕間の糸居五郎氏のMCも収録し、さらに音質面でも非常に納得いく内容だった。今回のリリースも基本的には前述の『Live In Tokyo 1972』に使用されたものと同一の音源を使用しているが、カットの位置や収録時間（10分ほど長い）が異なることから、同一マスターながらも異なる流通経路を辿ったのだろう。また今回のリリースではピッチ調整や欠落部の補完処理などの丁寧なレストア作業が行われている点でも、既発盤より優位性があるように思う。
