1971年「Meddle」発売後のプロモーションのための北米ツアーより、11月5日のニューヨークはハンター・カレッジ公演を過去最良と断言できる、高音質オーディエンス録音で2時間35分に渡って完全収録。コアなマニアならご存じ「Marbal」なる人物により録音された好音源。数年前に流通した24ビット、48khzのマスターを今回CD用にデジタル・リマスターを施しCD化。一曲目のThe Embryoで4分30秒辺りで、機材トラブルが発生し、以降、キーボードとベースが全く聞こえなくなってしまいます。そこでギルモアはボトルネック奏法を多用したジャム演奏をメイソンと延々とプレイ。アルバム『雲の影』に収録されたChildhood’s endをもかすかに(あくまでも、かすかにです。。)彷彿とさせる、非常に興味深い聴きどころを生々しいサウンドで楽しむことができます。9分目あたりから歓声とともに、ロジャーとリックの音が復活、4人のブルース風ジャムからThe Embryoのテーマに戻る辺りは、なかなかのドラマチックな演奏を楽しむことが出来ます。11分台からは子供の声を使用したSEが流れます。後半のフリーフォームな演奏では、Interstellar Overdriveの奏法も飛び出します。まさに創造性に溢れたフロイドのライヴ絶頂期の優秀な演奏を楽しむことができます。以降は機材トラブルもなく、この時期のベストライヴトラックスの数々を安定した鮮度の良いサウンドで堪能することができます。音そのものは2nd Master Tapeを使用しているわけですが、自然で劣化の少ない優秀なクリアーなサウンドで、ショウの全貌をたっぷりと楽しむことができます。曲間のチューニングやサウンドチェックも生々しいサウンドで収録。全編を通じて、ダイレクト感に満ちた、安定した質の高いサウンドで収録されており、ボーナスディスクでのリリースがもったいないのではと思えるほど、クオリティの高い大傑作ライヴ音源です。これは本当に素晴らしい。原音では高かったピッチも全て正確に補正。本来なら、プレスCDでのリリースが相応しい傑作音源です。
