そんな本作の正体は、「1977年７月２日チューリッヒ公演」のサウンドボードアルバム。　何より、本作が「SECONDS OUT」が肉薄するのは時期。この日は“WIND AND WUTHERING 1977”の最後から２回目でして、「SECONDS OUT」と同じヨーロッパ・レッグなのです。ここで“WIND AND WUTHERING 1977”の概要をおさらいしてみましょう。

そんなライヴを綴るサウンド・クオリティも、「SECONDS OUT」に肉薄している。2004年にサウンドボード・マスターが「LAST SUPER LIVE（Sirene-040）」で初登場した際には、そのあまりにパーフェクトな音質に衝撃が走りました。完璧に美しく録音され、わずかに歓声が遠目なものの、ほぼ完璧にオフィシャル感覚のミックス。数あるサウンドボードがひしめく“WIND AND WUTHERING 1977”であっても「ベストサウンド！」との激賞を集めるのも当然のクオリティだったのです。ただし、大きな欠点だったのが「Firth Of Fifth」終演後から「The Carpet Crawlers」前半までの４分弱の録音漏れ。その後、オーディエンス録音と全編マトリックスさせて完全版を成し遂げた「ZURICH 1977 DEFINITIVE VERSION（Amity 169）」も登場しましたが、本作はギラッギラに美しいサウンドボードの輝きを第一に考え、欠落部分のみをオーディエンスで補填しました。補填部分のオーディエンスは「ZURICH 1977 DEFINITIVE VERSION」と同じで、サウンドボードとマトリックスできるほどの超・高音質マスターです。
そのサウンドで聴ける「One For The Vine」「Inside And Out」「In That Quiet Earth」「Eleventh Earl Of Mar」「Drum Duet」といった、「SECONDS OUT」未収録の名曲たち。しかも、アナログ片面ずつの制約からも解放され、軽快なMCと共にライヴの自然な流れで繰り広げられていく……。特に「Inside And Out」は“WIND AND WUTHERING 1977”だけのレア曲ですし、やっぱり「In That Quiet Earth」と「Afterglow」は続いてこそ！　これぞ、これこそ「SECONDS OUT」に求めても叶わなかった完全体の姿です!!

“WIND AND WUTHERING 1977”の最後から２公演目ということは、スティーヴ・ハケットにとっても最後から２公演目。その極末期を極上サウンドボードで収めた本作は、「SECONDS OUT」以上に“プログレGENESISの総決算”・“ハケットGENESIS最後の輝き”を捉えきった大傑作ライヴアルバムです。「LAST SUPER LIVE」でさえ叶わなかった“ショウの完全体”、今週末あなたのお手元へお届けします！
