First of all, the highlight of this week’s Eric Clapton release is amazing! This is because the sound source of the performance, which was not posted on the famous bootleg site “Geetarz”, and the existence of the sound source had not been confirmed so far, was excavated. Moreover, it is not an upload master on the net, but a completely unpublished master that our shop obtained directly from a person living in the United Kingdom. And if the sound quality is not very good just because it is “unpublished”, I will not say so. In addition to the completely unreleased sound source, this board contains a wonderful stereo audience master that can be said to be the best. When we received this master’s offer, our staff was surprised and faltered. “The sound source of such a day was sleeping with such a great sound! …”. I couldn’t succeed the second phrase. This board is so shocking. Recorded from the “Money and Cigarettes Europe Tour” in 1983, the performance at St Austell in Cornwall, England on May 13th. This performance was the first day in Japan after traveling around Europe and returning to England. Moreover, 13 days ago, Maddy Waters died on April 30th, and it was almost right after that. Therefore, it can be inferred that Clapton set in Maddy’s Honey Bee in memory of him. Clapton’s play on this day was screaming tremendously, as he said, “Son-in-law,” acknowledged Clapton as the successor to the blues, and rewarded Maddy for co-starring. You will be amazed at the awesome sound quality that conveys Clapton’s passion. A clear sound with a sense of breadth, depth, and depth that you wouldn’t think of as a cassette recording at the time. I’m impressed that I was able to record with such a sound. Fortunately, there are no tape changes in the song, everything is done between songs, and the whole song is fully recorded (the head of Blues Medley and the head of the prologue rather than the intro of Layla are slightly missing. There are only). There’s no terrible audience noise or trouble during recording (at around 9:13 on Double Trouble there’s a rumbling noise that touches the mic, but it’s only noticeable here). On this European tour, the soundboard source for the April 20th performance in Bremen, Germany was famous, but when it came to the audience source, it lacked a decisive hit. All the titles had a decent sound quality, and there was no one that could be called a masterpiece. I assert that this board has overturned it! The band is a compact organization with only a small number of 5 elite people. Moreover, there are veterans who are skilled. The rhythm section of the late Donald Dunn and Jamie Oldaker was a highly acclaimed combination in successive Clapton bands. A powerful stage far surpassing the famous live album “JUST ONE NIGHT” in 1979 is captured here. What renews awareness is that Clapton of the day is focusing on singing. You can listen to the energetic “enthusiastic singing”. Get intoxicated with the band’s performance with its tight Southern rock sound and groove, without the female chorus staff as it is today. 最初に申し上げますが、今週のエリック・クラプトンリリースの目玉となる本盤は凄いです！なぜなら、有名なブートレグサイト「Geetarz」にも掲載されていない、まったくこれまで音源の存在が確認されていなかった公演の音源が発掘されたからです。しかもネット上のアップロードマスターではなく、当店がイギリス在住の人物から直接入手した完全未発表のマスターです。そしてただ単に「未発表」というだけで音質が大して優れていないものならば、そこまでは申しません。本盤は完全未発表音源に加え、まさに極上と断言できる素晴らしいステレオ・オーディエンスマスターを収録しているのです。このマスターの提供を受けた時、当店のスタッフも驚き、たじろぎました。「こんな凄い音でこんな日の音源が眠っていたとは！・・・」。二の句が継げませんでした。それほど本盤は衝撃的です。収録されているのは、1983年、「マネー・アンド・シガレッツ・ヨーロッパ・ツアー」から、5月13日のイギリス、コーンウォールのセント・オーステル公演です。この公演は、ヨーロッパを回り、イギリスに戻ってきての国内初日公演でした。しかもこの13日前、マディ・ウォータースが4月30日に亡くなっており、その直後とも言ってよいタイミングでした。そのため、クラプトンは彼を偲びマディのHoney Beeをセットインさせたのだと推察できます。「義理の息子」とまで言い、ブルースの後継者としてクラプトンを認め、共演も重ねてくれたマディに報いるように、この日のクラプトンのプレイは凄まじいばかりに唸りを上げています。そのクラプトンの情熱を伝えるこの音質の凄さには驚かれることでしょう。当時のカセット録音とは思えない、拡がり、深み、奥行き感のあるクリアなサウンド。よくぞこんな音で録音できたものだと感心します。幸いにも、曲中でのテープチェンジなどはなく、すべて曲間で行なわれており、全曲がフルに収録されています（Blues Medleyの頭とLaylaのイントロではなくプロローグの頭が僅かに欠けている程度です）。酷いオーディエンスノイズも録音中のトラブルもありません（Double Troubleの9:13時点辺りではマイクに触れるゴソゴソというノイズがありますが、目立つのはここのみです）。このヨーロッパ・ツアーにおいては、4月20日のドイツ、ブレーメン公演のサウンドボードソースが有名ですが、オーディエンスソースとなると、決定打に欠けていました。どのタイトルもがそこそこの音質どまりで、代表作と呼べるものは存在しませんでした。それを本盤が覆したと断言します！バンドは少数精鋭5人だけのコンパクトな編成です。しかも腕達者なベテラン揃い。故ドナルド・ダック・ダンとジェイミー・オールデイカーのリズムセクションは、歴代のクラプトンバンドでも非常に評価の高いコンビでした。ここには79年の名ライブ盤「JUST ONE NIGHT」をはるかに上回るパワフルなステージが捉えられています。認識を新たにするのは、この日のクラプトンが歌に力を入れていることです。気合の入った「熱唱」が聴けます。現在のように女性コーラス要員も置かず、タイトなサザンロック・サウンドとグルーヴを繰り出すこのバンドのパフォーマンスに酔いしれてください。プレスCDによる限定リリースとなりますので、お早めのオーダーをお願い致します。
