今回のエリック・クラプトンのジャパンツアーに際し、当店が立てたポリシー・目標は、昨年のポール・マッカートニーの時のように全公演を極上音質で完全リリースすること、でした。既に初日公演については「200th Concert In Japan」という究極の音質盤のリリースを実現し、今週は、2日目となった20日、3日目となった21日の武道館公演を極上のオリジナルマスターからプレス4CDとしてリリース致します！両日の音源はもちろん今回当店が独自に入手したオリジナルマスターで、ネット上のファイルではありません。当店のネットワークにより実現することのできた現代のオーディエンス録音の最高峰と断言してもよい、素晴らしい音質で両日が収められています。どちらも優れたクオリティを誇りますが、20日の音質を聴かれれば、ちょっと言葉が出てこないほどの衝撃を覚えられると思います。このマスターの提供者は「200th Concert In Japan」を録音したのと同じテーパーで、20日の座席は アリーナA9ブロック前方、そして21日はアリーナB8ブロック前方でした。ポジション上21日の方がやや音は遠めですが、それでも屈指の高音質を誇ります。さて、特筆すべき両日のコンサートの内容ですが、2日目からクラプトンはオープニングナンバーをPretendingに入れ替えてきました。3曲目のTell The Truthとの位置をチェンジした形にし、それを3日目も続けています。恐らくよりインパクトのあるオープニングにするための措置だったのでしょう。面白いのは、2日目と3日目でこの曲のイントロの入りのドラムパターンが違っていることです。2日目は、導入のピアノとのタイミングをスティーヴ・ガッドがイマイチよく把握できていなかったのかもしれません。3日目はオリジナルバージョンどおりの完璧な入りになっています。この曲ではいきなりクラプトンのワウワウが炸裂しています。まさに絶好のオープニングでしょう。また、全編を通じたクラプトンのプレイクオリティに関しては、2日目、3日目と徐々に高まってきているのがお判りになると思います。細かなところでミスがあったり、あまりキレのある速弾きがでてこないなどの部分はありますが、歌心のあるフレーズでソロを弾き切るという本来の調子が戻ってきています。演奏の安定感はバックメンの実力とともにさすがと言えるもので、非常にタイトで安定している一方で、いぶし銀の円熟味も見せるという次元の高いステージになっています。セットリストは2日間でまったく同じですが、それだけに前述したようなミスも含んでの「生もの」のステージを聴き比べていただく楽しみがあります。これでラストと噂されるクラプトンのジャパンツアー。ここは是非全公演の極上タイトルをコレクトしていただくのがファンの本望と言えるのではないでしょうか。本盤は当店が自信をもっておススメします！本盤にて当店の目標は道半ばまで達成されたことになりますが、今週同時リリースの「Yokohama 2014」も併せまして、今後の後半公演のリリースにどうぞご期待ください。本盤もプレスCDでの限定リリースとなりますので、お早めのオーダーをお待ちしております。
