Eddie Jobson “Four Decades” Special Concertのジャパンツアー最終日となった、11月12日の大阪なんばHatchでのライブを超高音質オーディエンス録音で完全収録。録音者はZODIACレーベルでお馴染みの大阪公演録音の達人テーパーによるもので、この日も圧巻の超高音質でショウを完全収録しています。

前年の同会場でのテリー・ボジオを加えての再編UKのライブはチケット争奪戦でしたが、この日11月12日は大阪では同日・同時刻に歴史的なライブとなったポール・マッカートニーの大阪公演2日目が行われていたためか、総数約700席の会場は200席強程度を埋める淋しい客入り。しかしながら熱心なエディ・ジョブソンファン、ジョン・ウェットンファン、そしてプログレファンが集まったと言えます。少ない客数ながらもどの曲も熟知した熱心なファンが集まりアットホームでありながらも歓声も飛び交い盛り上がった川崎に負けないライブとなっています。セットリストは川崎の2日目と同じで、勿論、11月8日のUKや9日のフォー・ディケイズ初日のようなトラブルやミスやハプニングは皆無で、全メンバーがミスなく完璧な演奏をし、今回のジャパンツアーで最も出来が良かった日であり、最終日にしてやっとエディが本来披露したかった形のライブを披露できたと言えます。各楽器のバランスは完璧、低音の響きが大変に豊か。激しい曲は迫力満点に、静かな曲は瑞瑞しい感じで録れており、各楽器の大変美しい調べに、誰しもがうっとりと聴き入ってしまうことでしょう。あえて文句を付けるのなら、楽音の素晴らしさに比べ、ボーカルがややオフ気味に収録されていることですが、これは当日のPAがそんな感じだったので、仕方がないことと思えます。とにかくドラムサウンドのクリアーさ、ダイレクトさは異常なほどで誰しもがスピーカーの前に唖然として聞き入ってしまうことでしょう。オーディエンスノイズも皆無で、音の近さも半端なく、まるでスタジオでの演奏をスタンドマイクで録音したかのようなサウンドです。記録としては間違いなく第1級のアイテムであり、本来ならばプレスCDで後世に残したいとまで思える大傑作ライヴ盤。近年のコンサート録音盤でも、ここまで音の良いのはないのでは？と思うほどの名録音で、エディ2014年ベスト・コンサート・イン・ジャパンをお楽しみ下さいませ。
