2014年日本ツアーより、10月4日の愛知県体育館を超高音質オーディエンス録音で完全収録。録音者はお馴染み「西日本最強テーパー」氏。録音はスタンド席Kブロック最前方からで、スタンド席と言ってもステージ真横の席で障害物は一切なく会場に設置された釣りスピーカーに最も近い位置からの録音です。それゆえ全ての楽器、ボーカルを完璧なバランスで捕えており、会場の上質な響きも加味され、ダイレクトでありながら適度な空間の空気みたいなものも感じさせるという、まさに理想的なオーディエンス録音と言えます。曲によっては少しばかり手拍子は入っているものの歌声や煩いオーディエンスノイズは皆無です。同時リリースの「BACK IN BUDOKAN」もそうですが、本盤のように、これからは、耳に突くような過剰なイコライズ感を感じさせない、高品質なオーディエンス録音が主流となっていくのではないでしょうか。重厚な音の壁の中でも常に、確かな分離感が感じられる高品質な録音は「流石」のひとこと。この音で聴ける2014年名古屋公演のステージは東京・大阪のような大会場然としたサウンドとはまた違った魅力が感じられます。遠目に聴こえる観客の歓迎ぶりも良い感じです。実際、土曜日の公演とあって地方からの遠征組が多いのか、今回のジャパンツアーで最も小さい会場となった愛知県体育館はほぼ満員の客入りだったとのこと。MCやセットリスト、ライブの流れなど全てがシステム化されたライブのため、全公演を通じてサプライズはなかったですが、この名古屋では名曲「Don’t Look Back」でトム・シュルツのギターにトラブルがあり、イントロでトムはステージ裏に下がってしまい、２コーラス目までサビ裏の印象的なギターメロディが聞けないという珍しい場面がありました。ギターソロ前に復活したギターとともにトムが戻った瞬間は周りも盛り上がり、その辺も貴重なドキュメントして楽しむことができます。35年ぶりの来日、来日することだけでも奇跡と言えるのに、内容も素晴らしく、本当に感動的なライブでした。全てのメンバーが担当楽器だけではなくキーボードも担当するなど、トム・シュルツによってオーガナイズドされ、システム化されたライブでありながら、相反する要素と言えるロックの躍動感、ダイナミズム、スポンテニアスさを感じさせるライブでした。セットリストも固定で、スクリーンに流れるMCの日本語訳もあらかじめ用意されている、いわばライブの流れも全て決まっているコンサートですが、素晴らしい名曲の再現を目のあたりにすれば、誰しもが胸が熱くなってしまいます。それが永遠に愛されるボストンの音のマジックなのでしょう。2014年名古屋公演を完璧なサウンドで完全収録したファン必携の２枚組が、好評ZIONレーベルよりプレスCDでリリース決定です。
